Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy responds to the timing of the Royal College of Nursing's announcement that its members have rejected a 5.5% pay offer during the chancellor's conference speech.

"Unions have a right and duty to speak up on behalf of their members," she told Sky's Sophy Ridge.

News of the rejection came just as Rachel Reeves boasted about ending public sector strikes.

Lisa Nandy is Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport. Why is she being asked about this? Where’s Wes Streeting?

Most people seem to be making the mistake of thinking the UK is a sovereign country. We are up to our ears in debt, and the country is, in fact, being run by the money markets. The money markets got rid of Liz Truss, and the money markets will get rid of this crowd as well. Just give it another couple of months.

The reason that nurses were offered a low pay rise is that Wes Streeting’s NHS reforms will see a lot of nurses assisted err replaced by Moxi, the robot nurse. As the unions are minority donors now, they have less power and the private healthcare sector has donated large sums to the Labour Party. The other thing is that these are mainly working class women & they don’t count in today’s Labour Party. It’s Labour In Name Only (LINO).

"We've brought an end to the long-running dispute with Junior Doctors"
... By paying them with the Pensioner's Winter Fuel Allowance? Good job, guys!

What did they expect when they gave train drivers the pay rise? Whom are already on an overinflated salary, with a much lower skill set to those in medicine. Everyone should buckle up, this is going to be a hard and difficult winter of much discontent!
