And just like that I clicked pause and grabbed the squash seed package, and went to the garden….. so now to watch the rest of the video.

Don't forget you can jumpstart a new tomato plant right now by cutting a "sucker" out of the armpit of an existing tomato plant. This is often called cloning because you get an exact replica of the parent plant. Stick the stem in water up to the first leaf in a sunny windowsill and wait about 2 weeks for the roots to form, then plant it. The more stem the better, so clip a leaf or two off. I've got 2 San Marzano clones going right now for fall!

Hi Brian, I've already started my fall garden with New Kuroda carrots, Purple Dragon carrots, Kyoto Red carrots, Uzbek gold carrots, Navone Gold rutabagas, Purple Top rutabagas, and turnips. I have five newly sprouted cucumber vines growing, and a batch of Danvers and red potatoes that will be ready to harvest in about a week. I will be resowing the red potatoes with potatoes from an earlier harvest. My zucchini are done, and dying, two plants. Tomorrow, I'll pull them up, and replace them with lemon squash, and yellow scallop squash. In August, I will be planting more turnips, Yod Fah, Chinese Cabbage, Bok Choy, and maybe some radishes. As the temperatures cool, in September, I will be planting the bulk of my fall garden. First, I have to prepare another 4x8 foot raised bed. I'm running our of garden space. LOL. I have a goal to produce half of the food I eat, or more, from my garden next year. I'm learning to can, freeze, and dehydrate, and have a deep freezer that is nearly full, and tomatoes and pickles on the shelf ready to eat this winter. I'm out of basil. Any guess at what I am picking tomorrow and dehydrating?

I grow indoor and outdoor and yes I planted all my fall stuff.
Next year I’m going to build a greenhouse so I can go all year outdoors

My tomatoes this year are the ones who are tired. They have been sun burnt, diseased and insect havens. I’m blessed to have gotten the few good ones I did. Today, I direct sowed bush beans and I’ve started some greens and my second crop of potatoes. I am praying for all the homesteaders and farmers who are suffering in these extreme temps, floods and drought this season.

I just planted a bunch of seeds today on trays to start my fall garden. I will have a winter garden. I have 12 raised beds & use the hoop house approach. Love having fresh vegs all winter & no bugs!

Plant cucumbers halfway thru summer? Who knew?!! I will plant it in a few days. Maybe that will help against the powdery mildew I get on my cucumbers halfway thru summer when it's hot and humid. Thanks for the tip!!

I started a fall garden in 2020 and loved it. Last year I planted my crops earlier than Burpee says and had problems with white flies, and fungus gnats, but as the weather cooled down my garden thrived and love the cooler weather and the fewer bugs. Fall is my favorite time to garden! Thanks for your tips!

Actually just started my tomato seeds today, inside where it's only 77F and well over 100 outside daily. Will plant out after turning the soil mid September. In Phoenix we must adapt and overcome. I've found this schedule to work very well.

Thank you for this video! SC heat and humidity has decimated my garden!!! Ugh. I pulled out all of my vine borer riddled squash and zucchini 2 weeks ago, but this gave me hope. Tomato seeds were started last week to try again after fighting caterpillars and blight. I found a few tomato starts also.
I've had some trouble starting seeds indoors. So many were leggy or never sprouted. Live and learn...I tried. This video gave me hope that squash and tomato season isn't over for me. 😁 Thank you!!! 🌱

Your garden is looking great! I have hardly harvested this year due to the heat. It has been getting to over a hundred by 8 in the morning for weeks on end now. Finally the temps are dropping a little, but we luckily we got rain this morning. The first time I won't have to water my garden since Spring. It's been a crazy season all around for us.

This year has been terrible from the heat. I have barely had any tomatoes and my squash is minimal. 4 to be exact. 1 zucchini. The heat had just about burned my garden out. Thank you for the great information. Going to start again. Today was the first day we received rain since April. Love all your video. Thanks for giving me hope!!!

I have 75 days from now to "first frost". have sprouts of carrots, beets, radishes, bok choy, and 60 day determinate paste tomatoes!!.. seedlings in the house of cauliflower, broccoli, rappini, cabbage. started indoor microgreens of basil, sunflower and dill. my squash and zucks were decimated by earwigs, the 4th planting is taking off now! thanks in large part to the info i have gotten from you! your dedication to your plants, and your audience is an inspiration. I appreciate your authenticity and humility! your just a dude, doing what you do, and sharing it honestly! thank you for the time you put into all of us!
