Synopsis: 2150 A.D. The Essex, a deep space fishing vessel for industry giant, AmberCorp, is ready to make its final harvest of the season. The ship brushes with a rare creature, mammoth in size and highly territorial. Could this be the same leviathan that killed Richard and Owen's father? To make matters worse, a vicious band of scavengers intercept the transmission and infiltrate the Essex, leaving them with nothing. With no cargo and few supplies, the captain makes a daring decision, they will venture into uncharted territory, playing for keeps, to capture the creature for a large black market take.

i'm just happy to see holt mccallany getting more roles, he was so freaking good in mindhunters.

This movie is actually great if you are into the space monster sci-fi genre. The acting wasn't over the top but it was nicely done. Now the CG, visuals, and world building along with hiw they showed the technology of the movie was greatly done. I don't know why the movie was reviewed badly... those people probably does not like this genre of movie I guess 🤔 😕 🤷

The space monster was very cool and well designed. The plot itself is way underdeveloped and with bare minimum communication, every character ended up acting on their own. Basically it turned out to be a movie about an overly stubborn captain leading his whole crew to its death.
