Finding the balance between stunning visuals and good smooth performance is something that we all crave in our flight simulators, no matter what PC setup we have. In this video, I take you through all the settings in MSFS 2024 to find what I believe to be the best setup for my system and hopefully, it can help you as well.

Great to hear from someone who isn't rocking a 7800x3d and rtx4090. Thank you.

Really nice to see someone with a mid range PC sharing their setting - so many people rockin a new top of the line X3D processor and the latest 7090RTX with 98GB VRAM LOL ok maybe a bit exaggerated but you get the point :) Nice video, +1 like and sub

I tried MSFS 2024 just this morning for the first time and unlike others, I can't complain. For GA it's seems better than 2020. I've built my computer due to MSFS 2020 and Cyberpunk and it's not upgraded since then. My spec: i9 10900k; RTX3080, 64 GB RAM, optic fibre internet 1 GB/s. Running everything on default Ultra setting, resolution 3840x1200, Vsync ON 50% refresh rate. It's super smooth in compare to 2020. Also the area around my home airstrip LKBE is much better and buildings are improved a lot. But anyway, it will take time to get the sim to the shape. No other sim was awesome on day one...

I have a 3060 and i7 11th Gen processor and it runs very well on my system … all set on high.. and VR too… couldn’t do that in FS2020

Many thanks for this video. I have a Ryzen 5 3600, 64GB RAM, and an RTX 3060 12GB. These settings made the sim GPU dependent. Great visuals with a solid 30 FPS. Thanks again man.

Best settings for me so far (5800X3D, RTX3080, 32GB RAM): Ingame graphics settings to "high" preset, change TLOD to 200, offscreen precaching to ultra, dynamic settings set for 30fps and frame generation mod. Super fluid with the quite demanding H145 at VirtualFRA EDDF. Give it a try!

Let's be realistic here. The only major problem with 2024 was the launch with the overrun servers. Everything else is far beyond what 2020 was when it launched. This is going to be pretty amazing.

The more I look at video's from MS2024, the happier I am that I haven't bought or (tried) to install it yet. At the moment my MS2020 is running butter-smooth and I am in no rush to downgrade to something that will stutter my joy. Let's wait until you can download aircraft and scenery to your PC, or at least after the second or third SU for 2024.

I really appreciate all of you work on this. The aspect I'd like to point out is the Dynamic Settings which is an integration of AutoFPS into the core of the sim. It will constantly and dynamically adjust all of your graphics settings to maintain a steady FPS which might well eliminate all of the complexity given the multitude of differences in everyone's personal setups. It's worked well for me and I've had no issues yet. Just something to explore perhaps in a new video.

Thanks for making this! It's great to see someone with more realistic specs for the average person.

I'm running a RTX 3070 Ti with a 5900X - I had to reduce the texture resolution a little, since the 8GB VRAM was struggling with Ultra (seems like the 12GB of your 3060 really makes a difference), but other than that, the settings you showed at the end are perfect for me.

I'm seeing around 30FPS while on the ground at EGLL (in FS2020 I struggled to see above 15/20FPS here!) and a steady 45-50FPS while in the air.

Ive been playing and having fun with the career. Currently still playing with my old RTX 2060. As a used system my PC would probably snatch like 300-400 bucks.
Game actually is as stable as 2020 for me and i get good fps.
Sure my settings are toned down quiet a bit and the streaming issues make things worse, but yeah still fun still playable. I have already setup a new PC with all those cyber deals we already had. Maybe should have been patient until actual cybermonday or black friday, but ngl the RX 8800 for 450€ was a good enough deal for me lol

I am running on almost exactly the same C as you are. I am using the settings you mentioned and the sim is running perfect. I have never had problems with 2020 or 2024.

So, the take away is this flight simulator is now fine - so long as you don't use an aircraft?

I appreciate this video. very good effort and information. I use the RTX 3060ti and I hope I can fly my aircraft with a beautiful graphics. I am waiting to have my MSFS 2024 fully ready to work on my 4 years old pc. in fact your video give me a hope to run the sim more realistic without having t spend a lot of money.. again, it's a wonderful video. Thank you

What gets me is the cut scenes at the beginning when you start the sim 2024 the graphics are so RICH AND COLORFUL ! But then when you get into the sim and fly around the graphic colors are WEAK AND PALE almost WASHED OUT !

Yeah this just proves to me I need to hold off for a few weeks/months and see if they improve it. I only fly airliners with real traffic (batc) and if I want good weather/traffic details...yeah, I think Asobo was not entirely truthful with their requirements. I have an rtx 3070 and already need to use lossless scaling in 2020 just to get acceptable smoothness/fps.

This might just be your best video yet. Thank you so much for sharing, I can’t wait to try some of these settings 👍.

Really useful video, thanks! My system is comparable to yours, but so far everyone has been trying to show off how it runs on a 4090 GPU. At last something representative of an average powered PC.
