Hey Vsauce! Michael here. Just wonder, how would I look like if I were an IT Guy teaching about Linux in a parallel universe. Well, here's a representation.

For some guys who dint work this
Follow this steps
1] sudo nano /etc/default/grub
GRUB_TIMEOUT=0
to
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10

GRUB_DEFAULT=0
to
GRUB_DEFAULT=saved

GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden
to
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menu

This will solve you'll issues

Thanks

Literally, I tried tens of ways even from the official documentation. Reinstalled grub 3 times but didn't try this silly change and every time the computer jumped to bios instead of grub. Thanks a lot, you saved my dual boot. 😀❤

Big Thumbs Up from me.

I could not for the life of me get the grub menu to appear with any of those 'F' Keys on VMware Fusion 12 but with your crystal clear instructions i see it PERMANENTLY!

I just installed Zorin OS and faced this same exact issue. Never used Zorin before and have been using Debian, Ubuntu, and Arch for the last decade or so. Oddly I've never actually encountered this issue before and figured that every distro had a grub menu. Lo and behold, Zorin's grub was hidden and, thanks to you, I was able to recover it using your advice and tutorial. Thank you. You definitely rock and just received another sub.

didnt seem to work, would have been nice if it was something that simple, but something else must be wrong with my setup

Also you may have timeout to 0 you can put it to -1 to have no time out

Thanks so much, had Manjaro on SSD, installed 2nd new SSD with Win 11 preview at which time Win took precedence in boot menu. So adjusted boot menu with Manjaro first and followed these grub commands - perfect now have grub menu with boot choice.

Hey guys, I tried what was in the video but it didn't solve my problem. After researching a bit more deeply, I noticed that my TIMEOUT, which is an option located right next to the one in the video, was set to 0. All I had to do was change the time to 10 ( can be any time in seconds). Maybe this is your problem too.
