Usually because of the flexible cable from the mainboard to the DVD lens was damage. Try replace it.

It could be several things, Optical reader with problems, dirt, misalignment in the cart (pick-up) or in the Plate/Disc support itself (Spindle)... All of these options can interfere with the Disc's identification, generating the code (No- disk)

Try shorting the board using tester. It worked for me, the motor started moving

Do actual DVD movies play? Asking because if movies play, but your burned DVDs do not, you probably have one of the DVD players that has a 2GB minimum. They are known as DVD players that are not compatible with minidvd disc. Some manufactures required DVDs to have at least 2GB recorded or the disc would not be recognized at all. After DVD camcorders started selling most companies stopped requiring 2GB of data on a DVD so you could play your minidvd disc from your camcorder. On most DVD players if you put a disc in that has less than 2GB of data, it will literally give a popup saying it is a minidvd. Even DVDs burned to a CD will be recognized as a minidvd. Yes you actually can burn a DVD to a CD and play it in most DVD players. It has to be less than 730MB with overburn, but you can make a small DVD file and burn it to a CD, and most DVD players will tell you it is a minidvd, and the players that will not play disc with less than 2GB of data simply won't play it. Nonetheless, if your disc has less than 2GB of data burned to it, that could be your problem.
