For vehicles with electronically controlled timing, a camshaft position sensor relays important information to the computer to ensure the engine is running properly. A bad sensor may relay incorrect or no information, resulting in poor running conditions and trouble codes. This video shows you how to install a new camshaft position sensor in your 2003-2007 Infiniti G35.

This repair was done on a 2005 INFINITI G35 Base 3.5L Sedan 4-Door RWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:

I just replaced the passenger camshaft sensor on a 2006 Infiniti G35 X Sedan. The green piece that the sensor goes into has a different mechanism. If I had pushed up with a screwdriver, the green connector piece would have broken. Instead I pushed down on a small protruding green piece to remove the sensor. The other popular video for this same repair shows the second green piece connector type.

very good video. one comment on Bank 2 (driver side) sensor, the connector is different than Bank 1 (passenger side). The connector on Bank one has a tab you have to depress while pulling. there is no sliding lock.

other than that, and easy replacement doing it by feel.

Thanks, but would have been better if you could have filmed the bolt being removed, etc. I checked it out, but on my car, there wasn't enough room for me to get a socket wrench in there. I have no idea how you managed to do it.

Great Video, My Question is should I sell my 2008 Infiniti M35 with ( 1. CAMSHAFT Sensor Seals Replacement, 2. Rear Main Seal Leaking, 3. Multi Oil Leaks, and 4. Service Engine Soon Illumating when the oil is low ) The car has 160, 000 Miles. The Book Value is $2, 300. My question is does it make sense to keep the car and repair these issues?

Didn't take oil cap off before he put engine cover back on. Good luck putting oil in it if you need to top-off!
