I also had this problem where it looked a bit dry and cakey. Going in with a oil primer before really helped me literally took away that problem. (Smash box primer oil $42 or NYX hydra touch oil primer $14)

I've always been curious how this foundation would work on a drier skin type, cause I've seen my oily skin girls swear by it. The color match was perfect for you and it did have that coverage. Thx for sharing 💋

I wear their foundation as it’s the best match out there for hard to match skin types. I am porcelain. I use a few of their products. I also use a ND foundation as well. I wish I could use numerous kinds but I can’t. I am just very fair. My foundation doesn’t dump like that.

The sponge drinks up less of the product if you dot the foundation on your face first and then blend it out. 👍🥰

I asked for it at the E L makeup counter several times & the salesperson talked me out of it since I too don't like seeing make-up on my skin. I instead purchased E L Double Wear Light, E L Double Wear Nude Water Fresh, & more recently their Futurist Hydra Rescue.
I enjoy the Purlisse Perfect Glow BB cream too.

Estee Lauder has sold the pump
For the bottles For years. So actually they were ahead of their time with packaging. You buy the pump and then just the bottles of foundation each time. I have oily skin and perhaps that is the difference. Bb creams are just too greasy for me.
Also, I can use this very sheer or build it up as you said. Also, when you buy EL in department stores they will give you sample sizes to use at home before you commit. Idk if Ulta does that.

I’m curious if you think it’s like L’Oréal Infallible???? I’ve heard EL owns L’Oréal and it’s pretty much the same foundation. 🤷🏼‍♀️. I think I’ve used the EL as a sample years ago and wasn’t a fan so I’ve been so curious about that???? Tyfs gorgeous 🤗💜

So, what you do with this foundation is take a little on your fingers, dot it all over your face, then blend it with your makeup applicator. 😘

I wish I would have watched your review before purchasing this product! I also felt that it was cakey and drying. Do you have any recommendations in foundation for full coverage but a natural look? I feel my skin type is very similar to yours

Great tutorial . Been using double wear for years now and like to see others opinions . I think the glass bottle is one of the defining features of this foundation and once you get used to it you know exactly how much to use on either side of the face . They shouldn't change the product at all ; it's a classic masterpiece . You just need to know how to work with it .

Let me ask you this… and this comes from what I have learned. If you can see your make up or anything on your face blemish wise…then how close are you to the mirror? Because when you’re out and about people are only gonna see what you see when you’re like five or 10 feet away from the mirror not all up in it. So if you think from that perspective it might help you better at choosing a product which I totally understand because I don’t like I have a feeling of foundation either but I think most of them all look like you have make up on because it is make up and that’s the point but when you’re like 2 inches from the mirror of course you’re going to definitely see it and any blemishes, dry skin patches, etc.
