The blade you used is already sharp which can be seen from the almost new protective pink strip.

If you want the blades to actually last make sure they are 100% dry after use since it’s the evaporation of water molecules that causes small pits on the blades edge making them dull.

The Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Mineral that are coated on the Non-Woven Nylon Webbing Sponge will NEVER sharpen the keen edge of the Stainless Steel Razor Blades. Been Selling Industrial Tools and Abrasives for 44 years. I call COMPLETE B.S. on this one. 😂

Your hack is awesome may I suggest after doing this method please sterilise the razor buy laying it in boiling hot water and disinfectant added to the water before you use it to get rid of build-up underneath those blades

Just get an oldschool double edged safety razor. The Feather blades I use are fantastic, cheap, and last for quite a while if you clean and dry them.

Plus, the only waste they create are the steel blades themselves, which are easy to recycle! :)

The biggest problem is years ago they redesign disposable razors so that the rear of the blades are blocked so the hair won't exit but clogs up.
Engineered obsolescence makes more money.

Fact check ! Most blades are made from stainless steel. Scotchbrite pads WILL NOT make them any sharper. This is just click bait for views and subs . Waste of time

I used to have a Made for TV product called the forever blade. It sharpened the razor. After 3 years it stopped sharpening. I took it apart and it had two small strips of sand paper that was on a spindle on a small motor. The sandpaper detached. I was gonna glue two new strips, but my wife threw away the disassembled sharpener before I could repair it.

Edit: it was Save A Blade for the As Seen On TV ads.

My paternal uncle in 1960's used to shave 7 o' clock blade. He shove daily. After 2 weeks he sharpened the blade using a green color glass stone.

This is interesting because I've been doing this for years but I use a fine whetstone. I can make a razor last for a year. Yes I'm Dutch! :)

I find that multi blades razors actually get plugged between the Slade's and that's why they stop working.
