A Sibling Tiff and Quiet Sunrise with the Elephants 🐘

A small sibling tiff doesn’t hurt Khanyisa and Timisa’s bond as they graze together with Fishan, Klaserie, Tokwe and Limpopo nearby, under a beautiful, cloudy sunrise. While the elephants enjoy a peaceful morning in the bush, Nandi the German Shepherd has her own way of relaxing – a refreshing swim in the waterhole.

Gosh, it is dry there. We're flooding in Tasmania right now after years of very little rainfall. Crazy!

That shot of Fishan should be a postcard. It was so beautiful! We had a hot dry summer here in the southern US and I’m hoping we will get rain soon too. I know the herd will enjoy having mud baths when you get rain again.

Once, when she was still tiny, Khanyisa charged a much larger creature. (I believe it was a rhino.)

The other elephants were very close by, of course, and there was no danger, yet I'll never forget seeing her pink ears stick out so bravely. (We must never let her know how cute she was on that day.)
