I appreciate the thoughtful layout. Most people would have put a sofa on the wall where she installed the faux fireplace--but then TV watching would be awkward. With the current arrangement, you see a beautiful sofa under the window that draws you into the room, and when you sit on it, you see the TV or your friends relaxing in the beautiful green chairs. Plus, you can see the fireplace from the bedroom. How cozy!

The reason shower curtains only go up 2/3 the way up is for ventilation (and light). Having the shower curtain stop 2' from the ceiling is to allow humidity from the shower/hot tub water to escape as well as to allow for light/ventilation through the bathroom window — that's usually on the tub wall. While shower curtains hung up to the ceiling is aesthetically more exciting/contemporary, the shower curtain all the way to the ceiling disrupts natural/artificial light and air circulation and can contribute to mold formation. Just sayin...
