You have under cut on both 7018 and 6013 also you didn’t show what voltage and amps you running

Sir, Are you weaving with 6013? I was taught not to weave 6013 cause it will trap slag and will cause porosity in your welds, you just drag it, no weaving.

I think the difference is slag 6013 left a bit of a mess 7018 was cleaner 🤔

Both rod diameter is 2.5mm on 85 amps, both has undercut. Not a welder but i have seen welders set the amperage about 75 amps for the rods.

That 6013 is not Hobart or Forney. Forney's 6013s illuminate more and Hobarts penetrate more while also strongly flashing the background.

6013 has waay too much slag and it's a mess to weld with, for diy projects which invole rusty steels, 7018 is much more suitable!

6013s are hybrid these days. Comparing Hobart, ESAB, Conarco or Forney is like comparing apples to oranges.

Different compositions, different results. They may not be straight rutile anymore.
