Apple Watch vs Garmin Forerunner 55

in this rainy running morning i wanted to test both of my fitness watches: apple watch 7 and garmin forerunner 55.
this is not a professional comparison but just a fun amateur experiment.

Depending on the model, Apple has better HR sensor, but Garmin does better GPS tracking. And of course the battery life.

The Garmin looks nicer and is way more robust. The Garmin Battery lasts 7-10 days also. Although the graphics on the Apple are good and the display is brighter you still have to charge it every day.
The Fenix 8 will be out later this year which has a better display apparently….

Man I'd love the battery life on the Garmin but at the same time I really like using the Nike app with the guided runs. Makes it a bit lively and really helps during those awful days. If it wasn't that annoying to use & keep track of both (Garmin + NRC) especially the shoe mileage, I'd 100% go for Garmin. Maybe once I outgrow NRC I'll finally buy one

If you were to compare apple and garmin watches you should compare watches on the same price: the Apple Watch 9 and the garmin forerunner 965 (955). The apple watch does not outperform the garmin in a single parameter in therms of fitness tracking

Garmin is better in term of insights and battery life. But apples accuracy is truly unbeatable. They are always late to the game on this but when they finally do it they do it great. Apple definitely is the way to go for accuracy in terms of everything really. Garmin however has a better data presentation and insights. So if you need accuracy get Apple but if you need insights into more detailed things Garmin is the way to go
