In Cell you also can direct a specific place for every hot: Create a new Indicator, name it like "hot 1" add the spell ID, set up the anchor point. Do this X times and you have all your hots on fixed places. If you play multiple healers you can also add for example Reju, RM, Riptide to "hot 1" so you don´t have this work for every spec

I have been loyal to Vuhdo for 7 years, but navigating through the 90s Vuhdo menu is a nightmare. I think I might take a look at Cell.

CELL all the way. Switched recently and holy shit, it has everything and replaces 5 addons/weakauras

Jak can you make a guide on how to set up cell?! That would be amazing.

If Jak made a video on a step by step guide on exactly how to set up both cell AND the changes that are needed in edit mode, I'd be sold, but I'm not computer savvy enough to figure it out by myself.

best way imo to test ui things like this is to queue follower dungeons!

good video idea jak. I'm a grid boy but i definitely get the sentiment.

I switched yesterday when a guildy told me about it and I’m already in love with it. I’ve used healbot for 10 years and I was ready to drop it within hours of having cell. The raid debuff section almost instantly sold me on it. It’s such a pain to set up in healbot. Cell has all the debuffs for raids and dungeons sorted by bosses in a list and you just enable/ disable what you want to see. You can also set up a hot key to black list debuffs right off the raid frame when they pop up. It’s amazing

Malea. He is a priest player from northern sky. His grid2 profile is the single best party/raid frame I have ever healed with. The way it tracks certain buffs is perfect for me. The entire hp bar changes colour when they have atonement on them for example. So you can quickly see who didnt get tagged with it because they are a completely different colour, rather than trying to see who is missing an icon.

I have gone from using Elv ui frames, vuhdo, stock blizz frames and stuck on his grid2 profile. It is one of those addons that is modular and granular. And out the box it is a steaming pile of shit. Have a gander at some of his boss kills and you will see it in action.

Healer frame type stuff aside, If you want to limit your FPS drops / frame lag as much as possible and have a smooth framerate during raid (assuming you have adequate RAM etc), I'd highly recommend using one of the X3D Processors from AMD (5800x3d, or 7800x3d, etc). The extra L3 cache on them hard carries FPS on wow since it's such a CPU heavy game that can utilize the 3D V-cache tech well. I basically never drop below 100 FPS in raid now, and I'm typically at 130+, even during bloodlust when there are a lot of mechanics going out. The difference was unreal.

I was showing a friend who was a dps only player how to use healing frames in order to cast their targeted support abilities (brez, misdirection/tricks, bop etc.). This lead me to switch off my current raid frames I was using for Cell as I saw Jak testing them on stream and it was much more new user friendly for them and still being as customizable as I needed it to be as a long time user of healing frames.

heard u talking about cell a few weeks ago and tested it myself. Was a long time vuhdo user, too, but haven't looked back. Cell seems very intuitive and well thought through. Thx for the rec! Looking forward to the guide/optimization video.

Been using cell for a while, and not being able to sort myself in a specific spot was driving me nuts, was gonna ask how, but you explained that they added the feature in the end. What I find really annoying is that there isn’t a profile sort of section where u can select different profiles for different characters, you can only make changes based on roles. For example you can’t disable showing party on one character and enable it on another. If you disable it in one spot its disabled for all other characters too. I try to work around it by just not loading cell on characters that aren’t healers, but its super awkward. I sometimes heal on my paladin, but most of the time i want cell frames hidden as I use another frame for dps.

I'm giving Cell a go after seeing it on your stream, moving away from Elvui/Grid2. I got Shadowed Unit Frames to handle player, target, focus frames, etc., and it feels pretty good

I dont want to deal with addons as much as possible and healing beyond a certain level seems to almost require it so I actually quit my priest despite having fun on it for this reason.

Its really frustrating that you basically NEED addons to see any of these extra options. Oh well.

Bloody love add-on review videos! So important but they can take so much work. Thanks Jak!

Vuhdo main as well for as long as I can remember but this video was super interesting and helpful. I'm going to give Cell a try. I'm glad I got a quick preview of all the other addons so I don't have to bother struggling setting them up just to test them my self.

The last time I tried cell, the biggest negative was not being able to have my frame first in the list. If this is possible now, I might give it a go for a bit.

I’ve used Healbot since I started healing at end of Panda, tried VuhDo in Shadowlands and hated that one, so I didn’t dive any deeper into the other addons. Cell looks like it is more intuitive so I’ll probably check it out before TWW. Thanks for the video Jak.

Weak auras is very optimized and you can anchor buffs/debuffs to raid frames. So you can even add special textures or glows or sizes to specific buffs, have priority, or really whatever. For me, raid frames are just health bars, weak auars manages all my buffs, debuffs, defensives, etc. Happy to show you have if you message. It's quite easy.

This year when I became a full time healer I went away from the base ui frames. In the past I have had elvui. This year I gave Grid2 a shot and I know your thoughts on it. I admit its very hard to learn it and I myself used another profile but in the 6 months I have had it I have made it my own and learned all there is. I agree its for the type of person that wants everything in its place which I do like. Good thing in War Within is that with all the classes getting reworks I can go to wowhead and bring up defensives and add them to a defensive cooldown indicator. Only need the spell ID really. I can make my frames go certain colors based on what debuff they have like poison but only on the class that can dispell which is very helpful. I can make earth shield stacks for resto, you name it. On cell you have layouts and in Grid2 they are called themes which do the same when you enter raids or group content. I like that if you set your buff and devuff indicator size as a % of your frame they shrink to the right size in a raid which I only learned this last few months. Its good for every healer to have a top notch addon that they like and I wuld not want to change peoples minds. I just like Grid2. :D
