The logarithm of a positive real number b with respect to a positive base number a is the power n of a to which a must be raised to obtain.
Note:
Log b base a is meaningful only when a 0, b 0, and a ≠ 1.
Logarithm of a number with a negative base is meaningless.
Logarithm of a negative number with a negative base is meaningless.
Logarithm of a number b with base 1 is not defined, this is because 1 to the power of any number is 1, and 1 is not equal to b.
