Perfect for Charisma based spellcasting.
Also super interesting that upon having their growth spurt, they can change their gender as well

Verdan is now my second fave race, right behind the Duergar, as something to play as. Will for sure be one when I make a new character.

All you had to say was new race of goblinoids XD

I will have to run out and buy this book. Oh, never mind its in the link. They look like Goblin Monks, (the way of the green).

Thanks D&D Beyond & Penny Arcade you guys have a wonderful day.

Good idea for new players. Also, you get to play a non-standard "Goblin-like" race without being a Goblin per-se (who may be more likely to attack or even feast on other humanoids).

Look like namekians mixed with kappas. I’m down

They remind me of Kif from Futurama; and now I need to go create a new character.

Bought the book and they don’t map the changes physically at all - narratively it is in the description... aka it can be in the PC backstory... but in regards to actual playable statistics or traits it is non-existent. If you want that you have to homebrew what that looks like. The side note they have in the book on p. 74 mentions that ability score improvements for Verdan are tied to these mutations but let’s be honest - who uses ability score improvements over choosing a feat?

Funny thing is the name of my party is Verdan... This is weird now

got it, make a verdan sun soul monk who takes 5 minutes to do one attack

so the verdans whole thing is that they are naive right? so say what if one was horribly betrayed or something traumatic happened, would that do good for a rogue backstory instead of just EDGE, like they are a rogue because they have trust issues, just askin
edit: there is 69 comments nobody comment if you wanna comment reply to me IM THE COMMENTS SECTION DONT RUIN THIS

As much as I like Omin, he is an over cooked turkey.

Newbie asks!
How would one work as an artillerist?
