I live on the Isonzo river, in a small town called Turriaco. The themes of WWI, its lore and battles are dear to my heart, as the war scarred our land and our people. Here, to this very day, you see stuff from that era just laying around with every turn. My house is built 300 mt away from an authentic WWI trench, and recently a wildfire blew up bombs buried in the ground, unexploded since 1916. All I’m saying is that I love it when developers work on games set in that timeframe. They help the rest of the world to not forget the victims of that terrible conflict.

I think when they finish this game series they should remaster the older games like Verdun and then put all of the maps and weapons in a single game. That game would be so awesome!

0:36 those three mountain peaks are the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, until 1919 they formed part of the border between Italy and Austria-Hungary. I have never seen them in a videogame before and they look beautiful 🙌

This map is set in Tre Cime, a real place in the Dolomites of Italy. Went hiking there last year and you can still see the barbed wire and tunnels from the battles there. Insane place

I love this game also because of the languages, the armies speak all in their native language and as an Italian I can hear what they say, it makes it so much more immersive to me

Oh boy! Those three peaks are the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and next to it the Monte Paterno. I’ve climbed both to the top and I go hiking in the area a couple of times a year. I know almost every path there. Seeing all this so realistically recreated in a video game is… weird, at first, but super exciting once your brain overcomes that strange feeling of seeing something so familiar apparently out of context, almost as if you saw your own driveway in a movie on tv. I really need to play this game.

Dude huge Monte Grappa vibes here, i loved the Italian maps in BF1 and Isonzo captures those beautiful mountains perfectly

This seems like the type of game both casual and hardcore players can enjoy. Whether you like BF1 or Beyond the Wire (a more milsim style game), I think both groups of players are likely to enjoy Isonzo.

Isonzo is such a unique game, I played a lot of Verdun and Tannenberg. And Isonzo is a completely different experience!

Both Verdun and Tannenberg had dual render scopes for the sniper rifles that appeared in game. They were definitely a lot wonkier before. In this game they look great
