Dr Randy Morris MD-The BOARD CERTIFIED fertility expert with weekly TTC tips on InfertilityTV

Women with PCOS have more difficulty getting pregnant. The main reason is that they don’t ovulate. Getting women with PCOS to ovulate can be tricky. Luckily, there are a number of options

A common reason why women with PCOS don’t ovulate is insulin resistance. Methods to reduce insulin resistance can often get ovulation to occur. Three ways to reduce insulin resistance are weight loss, exercise and medications. The most commonly used medication in PCOS patients to reduce insulin resistance is called metformin.

Fertility medications are also used to induce ovulation. Most people are familiar with a fertility pill called Clomid. However, many women with PCOS do not respond to Clomid. A better choice is another pill called letrozole.

Injections of fertility medications can also be used to get ovulation to occur but be careful, there is a much greater risk for multiple pregnancy with injections.

Finally, surgery on the ovary can be used to induce ovulation. This surgery is performed through laparoscopy and uses a laser or electric current to vaporize the cells in the ovary that are responsible for some of the hormone abnormalities in PCOS.

Each option has pros and cons. Here at IVF1, we will review the advantages and disadvantages of each option to help you decide which is best for you.

You know, ladies, it’s better to hear at least any diagnosis and get the appropriate treatment then getting perfect test from the lab every time without understanding why there is no ovulation🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi Doctor thank you so much for these informative videos! I am a PCOS patient, I have tried higher than standard doses of Letrozole and Gonal-F, in combination and independently. I have very high AMH level, but my responses have been very poor. I am not over weight. Any idea why this might be happening?

@Infertility TV  Will castor oil packs aid closed fallopian tubes? From a pcos individual that does not ovulate? Will it still be possible to conceive? Thank you Doctor.

Dr I have regular cycles, no symptoms of pcos, ultrasound scan shows normal ovaries, I've got normal testosterone levels, no symptoms of pcos, weight is normal but my progesterone is slightly low. I'm wondering do I have pcos or not? Do you get patients like myself?

Can you have PCOS and ovulate consistently ten days after your period? I have regular ovulation and periods, but it was irregular when I was younger. All of my levels look great. My Amh is 3.25. I’m older (41) but I’ve only been pregnant once naturally (at 34) which resulted in a miscarriage. I was never not trying to conceive, but I also didn’t start actively trying until three years ago. I’m currently pregnant now from my first transfer, but one had no heartbeat and the other had no yolk at six weeks.

Hi. I have PCOS and now ttc. My obgyne put me on clomid 50mg but didnt ovulate. I've been using 1200mg NAC with 50mg clomid that time but it didnt work. My obgyne upped my clomid dose to 100mg and 500mg/day metformin. My question is, is it okey to take metformin and nac together? Thanks in advance for answering.
