I am definitely on the sweat-a-lot spectrum. I also found out the embarrassing way that taking a lot of vitamin D (I had a huge deficiency) makes your sweat smell much more. I was blissfully unaware until a brave colleague dared to point it out.

Makes me wonder if there's something about foot sweat that promotes the ripe cheese odor. I've heard that the microbes involved are the same ones that make stinky cheeses. Maybe it's just the tendency of modern humans to wear socks and shoes most of the time, ensuring a damp dark environment for growth. I assume lactobacillus will find plenty of lactic acid in the eccrine sweat but I don't know what the various penicillium fungi find to eat. Dead skin, maybe?
