I miss this old nfl and style of football everyday. Im not kidding. Nasty style of football. Great broadcasts. Beer commercials with athletes.

It’s always refreshing to hear the voice of Dick Enberg calling NFL action, just like listening to Summerall & Madden doing their thing on CBS

2 QBs who were ahead of their time. Including the offensive schemes they played with were ahead of it's times.

Love 80s Football telecast! No annoying fantasy numbers taking up part of the screen.

Probably the two best quarterbacks of all time who never won a championship in the NFL

Elite uniform matchup. The all white Dolphins was a thing of beauty.

I’m glad Don Coryell got inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. The passing offense we see in today’s NFL was thanks in part to Coach Coryell who introduced a lot of unique ideas such as using the tight end position in the passing game and using a simple number play system to signify route combinations. Also despite Coryell not winning any championships himself there have been teams after his coaching reign that have won with his offensive system like the 90’s Cowboys and the 99 Greatest Show on Turf Rams. I know many will say that those teams had stellar defenses as well compared to the 80’s Chargers whose defenses were terrible to say the least but can you really tell the story of football without mentioning Don Coryell? In my opinion, you can’t because of the modern offenses we see today.

Raiders fan here but I love seeing the games at the old Murph. Madden and Coryell were friends but Madden said Coryell was so focused he looked like a model for an aspirin commercial. This from the guy who retired as a coach because the anxiety gave him ulcers. Great old school game, Fouts was as tough as they come

Whenever the Fish and the Bolts got together back then you knew it would be a classic.

Chargers always have had good QBs. Fouts, Rivers, and now Herbert. Fouts was ahead of his time passing the ball the way he did in that era

The most exciting era of football for me... The Air Coryell air attack was so exciting. John Jefferson is my favorite WR too! Go Bolts

The best and most exciting game from my childhood! My emotions hung on every play and felt like anything could happen in that game! I knew as a Chargers fan that Air Coryell⚡ would end the Dolphins undefeated streak⚡! Thank you for remembering this game! I wish that the source tape was better quality! I also thought it was funny that Pete Johnson played for both teams that season!

Always refreshing to hear the voice of the great Dick Enberg calling NFL games on NBC. Marino and Fouts were ahead of their time.

Dan the Man x 2. Two of the best ever before the rule changes, when the QB was still a position player instead of being protected like ab endangered species.

Dude .. I was 5 and Dan Marino was my favorite player. They would go 14-2, losing this game and against the Raiders and Lester Hayes . Then ultimately Joe and the Niners.
