I use this method for my laminate floors. I vacuum first as well as dust mop for under furniture. I too have dedicated indoor shoes lol.

How can you tell if a flooring is real wood or not?

Please give tips on cleaning hardwood floors that have the gaps between the boards! The tops are treated, but the sides aren't as much, and I'm terrified of using the wrong products which will seep into the boards and warp the floors. I've resulted in hand washing my floors and stopping every min or so to run a toothpick with a papertowel in the cracks to soak up excess, but that can't be good for the foors long term. It's also unrealistic to do regularly as it takes HOURS to clean. Am I being overly anxious? I'm getting too old to be down on my hands and knees, and it results in me rarely cleaning my floors more than a quick sweep and spot clean

Question. What can you use to disinfect wood floors?? Our dog just turned 16 and doesn’t always make it to the door in time to pee. She always feels terrible when she has an accident but these things happen to the elderly. Anyway it seems I spend a good deal of my time mopping up puddles and am wondering what I should use to get into the wood to disinfect it.

I hope you do a video on porcelain tile flooring. I have dark porcelain tile throughout my house, and I always see streak marks when I use my steam mop, or some kind of haze. I would love advice on this!

I love my steam mop on my real wood floor. It leaves very little water and the water is gone very quickly. (of course dry mop/dust first)

Good to know! Upstairs the wood is about 80-90 years old. Downstairs it's very new and I am just not sure how much of it is real wood. I do use a wet mop. But I will use a swiffer to see how it goes. Ty!
