As the owner of a commercial and residential cleaning company I can say this is great advice. Bona makes a great product. Always look for a no rinse, neutral ph product for your floors. Otherwise you will have to have people like me come in with the orbiter and get them right and its not cheap to have done.

I have been doing hardwood floors for almost 40 years and this is exactly the same advice I give my customers. Great video and thanks for sharing.

I've been sanding hardwood floors for over 30 years and I'm also certified by Bona. I give all of my clients the same advice for maintaining their floors, with one exception. You don't have to use a vacuum. You can also use those blue Bona micro fiber towels (or any micro fiber towel) to do a dry prep. You'll probably have to vacuum off the towel a few times or replace it with a clean towel. Then use the Bona cleaner. In fact, I recommend just doing the dry method on a daily basis and doing the wet method only as needed. BTW, Bona also has a newer product that is essentially the same as a disposable Swiffer pad that's pre-moistened.

I just got my hardwood floors redone and was looking for the best way to tell my housekeeper to clean them going forward. This was the best video I found. Thanks!

I don't understand how when people mop the floor, they literally walk in the wet spots😮🤔🤔🤔 also, I have hardwood floors and my landlord has always recommended using only hot water to clean the floors. And when I tell u, he is absolutely right! I've been in this place for almost six years and the floors are not dull looking, still has a shine.

Professional cleaner here, I mop once or even twice to scrub then one more time with a dry or near dry swiffer type of mop to dry/polish up the floors. And yes bona is okay but since I'm trying to make as much profit as possible I usually just use water as well then occasionally if the customer says they like Murphys or whatever else I'll use a small amount but absolutely dont use it often. If you clean floors everytime with oil like that you will notice that it becomes sticky too. Looks nice and shiny sure but overtime creates more hassle to Clean and could ruin the floors. One tip is if your worried about bacteria to do vinegar and water mixture. The vinegar is a disinfectant and will not harm the wood as long as you don't let it soak same as water or whatever.. i meatn if you use it alot and often maybe but again you shouldn't need anything more than a quick vacuum or sweep and a damp swiffer mop on a daily basis anyway and the extra stuff is only occasionally 😅. Pledge is the worst. I have customers ask to add that each time then they complain about it getting extra sticky and I have to scrub it back down again with dawn dish soap and reapply a tiny amout of oil back. Alittle oil occasionally is good for wood and leather and stuff like that but you cannot clean it everytime like that. You remove the dirt and oils then re apply a little bit back occasionally if it's needed. Same with stainless steel cleaners too. People clean over and over again and then wonder why it stops looking good even without water damage. Uhh cause you gotta clean it out then add some more oils from the stainless cleaning solution. If you just keep adding more and more layers of oils it's not actually cleaning anything and all that sits for months or even years collecting dust and stuff😅

Idk if you still look at comments. But I need something to clean waxed hardwood floors in a restaurant. The Grease build up is the problem. They use fabuloso and I know it's terrible for that. I need something that will take up light grease for them to use and doesn't destroy wax

What to use on old wooden floors that been covered with furniture for years and now that the furniture is removed. Would you use the same routine or what would you use for the oldness and gunk.

In a home with hard wood floors, the previous tenants didn't clean much. The cleaner guy did the floors before I moved in, and they looked clean and disinfected, but my feet would get dirty walking around on it. So I bought a Bona and some Bona hardwood floor cleaner. I used only those two items and scrubbed the entire house. I'm a pretty darn fit person, but I was sore for days. Unfortunately, walking abound in bare feet now gets my feet just as dirty as before. What should I do? Keep hard scrubbing with the Bona stuff until I reach my desired level of dirt-free and wear myself out every few days in the process, or hire a professional to do the work, or buy a machine that will safely and effectively get these floors clean? I'm not planning on eating off of them, but I'd like to be able to walk around without my feets and socksies getting all caked up with the dirts.
