I’ve been doing commercial maintenance for almost a decade and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a light wire that tight 😂

if you hang the lights correctly off of their own dedicated celing grid wire at opposite corners, you shouldnt screw the lights into the ceiling grid. the whole reason we tie em up with DEDICATED grid wire is so the fire company can come in if there's a fire and rip the ceiling down without getting clobbered in the head by lay-ins.

As an apprentice the foreman yelled at me because the turns were spaced too far apart. They will never come undone just because of spacing

I like to grab the bottom of the loop with a pair of Kleins to hold it sturdy when making the 3 twists. Sometimes the cheap can light tabs will break off.

What section of the code is that specified

Not true about the spacing. The code does speak of tying light fixtures. Must be independent support system. Plus identification

I’ve never seen anyone use just ceiling wire I’ve only ever seen jack chain. I’ve definitely seen the chain be attached to ceiling wire though.

Then NEC requires the wires holing up electrical work to be distinguishable from the grid wires...
But doesn't say how...

I put a lot of drop ceilings, looks like you guys are new at doing it. Screw in their lights ? That support cable isn`t holding up the grid way to loose .

It’s state by state/ province to province, most manufacturers and codes state you need a static line or other securement methods to the adjacent structure. Says nothing about having to use the pencil rod through a light 😂😂😂 look on the spec sheet for the light 100% chance it tells you to use the fold out wrap tabs on the sides, but looks like a great way to take a ceiling out of level

Don’t forget to cut slack off the ceiling wire

All who are blessed to have the opportunity to watch your electrical instructional videos, can only hope to attain to the level of perfection such as yours. Maybe, just maybe one day I’ll be able to sit with you on the ivory tower you have constructed for yourself; look down upon all the hack electricians and scoff. To think that those electricians of a lower class would dare to go without screwing trough lights into the grid. Or worse, not twisting the tie wire three times within an inch!!
