I like the way Bond peels off a note while talking to the lady then tips the doorman and the doorman receives it all in one motion, while Bond pockets his winnings as he exits. So smooth.

Pretty sure the hair on my chest grew a 1/4 inch just watching Connery be the manliest man of all time.

“Can I let you know in the morning” so much smoother than “eyo what’s your number?” Fuck within all the cliches i actually learned something

James Bond: "I must pass the shoe." Me: "Please pass the ketchup." Sigh.

A little question for the experts of Chemin de fer:
If a tie occures in a coup, the wagers stay on the table for the next round, or so I read. Now my question: Are in the next coup wagers made, even though the wagers of the tie lie on the table? And against whom is played in this round, if no wagers are made? Thanks!

Which was the first type of baccarat? Chemin De Fer or Baccarat A Deux Tableaux?

Thanks for this post... good quick lesson on the required attitude to roll... random: my reason for looking this up is I totally forgot what the folks were saying in French for the players to get another card... for decades I'd say "Sim-sala-din... card" (as well as "Sim-sala-din... no card") like a total dufus... sorted that out. Now need to watch Dr. No this weekend.

quick math, UK inflation from 1962 I would say the pinks are 500GBP about 20kGBP total that today would be worth $424, 000.00 GBP or $720, 333.00 CAD and $545, 902.00 USD hahaha crazy. so in 55 years that event with phil ivey 10 mill US will be worth some 360 mill haha. food for thoughts

Does anyone know where one can obtain those classic, rectangular plaques that simply exude class? They're quite hard to locate in the States.

I mean, I think it's sort of bogus that Sylvia won't let Bob Newhart be banco.
