The crazy thing is when a possum is domesticated they actually go through both a physical and mental change and are different from wild ones, they actually really become physically fluffier and cuter. No joke.

Possums and Armadillos are irrationally hated and feared. But they both eat ticks by the dozen. Anything that eats ticks is a friend of mine. Also, they’re affectionate.

I've had 2 pet opossums during my life. Both of them were really sweet babies.

I found one yrs ago on side of the road. Peter was so little so he came home with me and went everywhere even to the church 😂. They make great pets when you get them as babies.

It makes me so happy to see other people falling in love with these amazing creatures. We had rescued a tiny baby opossum two years ago during a hurricane. She wasn't able to be released so she became a very important member of our family. Her name was Peep. These animals are so loving full of personality. She slept in the bed with us, potty trained. Sadly we had to put her to sleep two months ago from medical complications. We have her ashes that stay above the spot where she slept in our bed. I never thought a opossum would steal our hearts and that we would truly feel a part of us was missing but she absolutely did. They are misunderstood animals and people have not been taught how amazing they are but the opposite. All animals deserve a chance, they deserve respect and as humans it's our responsibility to help the innocent animals have a chance at a successful life in wild or in some cases our homes.
