Werewolf Skin - Monster Blood 4 | Goosebumps Review-A-Thon

Well, here we are. The finale of the Goosebumps Review-A-Thon.

To wrap things up we close out with books 60-62: Werewolf Skin, I Live In Your Basement, and Monster Blood 4.

One thing I want to expand upon. I mentioned how RL Stine is an expert in writing for young adults, specifically 12 year olds, and I believe it’s for this reason: he captures what it means to be a kid. The everyday things that the characters have to put up with, from pesky siblings to bullies to rivals, I could sympathize with them because I went through a lot of the same things. Though the stories can be hit or miss, you always feel engaged because you connect so well with the characters, essentially becoming them with their relatable experiences. In re-reading the series, it felt like I was recalling memories from my childhood; it was that visceral.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun this month. I will be taking a break until the New Year, so until then enjoy your holidays.

Just finished reading Monster Blood 4 which was the last book of the original 62 that I needed to read. I was with it until the twist and I just burst out laughing while also being like "really?!" The threat of the book defeats itselfs AND turns out they're some scientific weapon program for underwater combat? Wtf lool what an insane ending to the orignal series

I don't think I've even heard of Werewolf Skin. I kind of want to read the I live in your basement book now. It just seems so odd. I also didn't know there were so many Monster Blood books. Like Werewolf Skin, I don't even recognize the cover. Thanks for the gift of knowledge on this Christmas Day!

I never got why monster blood got 5 books when only 2 of them were good. I mean there’s so many other stories in the goosebumps series(when I say series this includes every goosebumps series from the originals-Most Wanted) that deserves 4 fucking sequels. Haunted mask (1 and 2 were great, 3 could’ve been much better), bride of the living dummy(I mean Slappy is basically the mascot of goosebumps now, but Mary Ellen deserves a return), and etc.
