As much as it broke my heart ... I don't know why, but I liked this ending. I knew it was never going to end well with the situation they were all in, but it was a great story told. Isayama did a good job, the animators did a good job, and the voice actors put their heart and soul into their performances. I remember watching the three main VA's recording their last lines and how emotional it was.
