I own an automower 430x. I've had it three years now and it's amazing. I have issues once and a while, usually regarding misc. objects in the lawn that it might get stuck on and also boundary line repairs. If you are handy i highly recommend it. My lawn, 1/2 acre, looks freshly mowed all the time and all i do is water and trim the edges. Basically, it gives me like 2 hours of freed up time each week. My lawn also is much, much healthier than before and looks like a golf course.

I've had a robot mower for three years and I would like to add something on here. If you have any slopes the wheels can spin which tears up your lawn. I don't use mine anymore because lightning took it out.Your boundary wire is a large antenna for lightning.

Thanks for the great content, I’ve been using the Worx landroid for the past 2 years. The first year no issues, but this year I had issues with it jumping the boundary wire, but last week I bought used Husqvarna Automower. I’m excited for the next growing season.

RoboUP has a mower that does not need a boundary wire and it maps your yard all by itself. Set it to map, around it goes, and then it cuts. But they are only available in Europe as of 2024.

Finally! A channel that doesn't sugarcoat and mask reviews behind sponsorship/brand deals 🤝 .... "Factory Reset, connect the blah blah to the PC", exactly that's not our job as the consumer!

Enjoyed your video - You have convinced me not to get any Robotic mowers thanks, but I might get a battery powered mower after viewing your review

Thanks. I have a Landroid M(edium) it doesn't get stuck like your S(mall). It is fine wit my dencer grass. It does have a bad habit of spining in the same spot over and over and burrowing a hole and getrting stuck. Strangely, only when I am not watching it. Hmmm. I have technigues to deal with this but... Anyway, I added the eyes and magnetic sensor to my landroid. Do the other mowers have these add-on options?

Love my Landroid, named him Mowbie. It gets stuck in some areas but....I haven't mowed my lawn in almost 3 years.

My suggestions: Get some good perimeter wire, solder the connections, and get some of the stainless spiked wheel adapters for better traction.

My OCD is greatly RELIEVED by my robot mower due to not seeing the out of control growth of grass after a few days yet not having enough time to mow it but once a week. My lawn stays well mowed by an old school Husqvarna 315 although I had to set it to mow the appropriate amount of hours for the size area. I also bought some extra long blades to clip the crab grass which grows so fast the short blades could not reach the grass since it was folded down by front of mower as it passed over it. I now use 3 of the Husqvarna 315 model to cover about 2 acres of rough looking lawn, and they have greatly improved the lawn and keep it tidy at all times. They have been on the job for 5 years. Sure it takes a little work on my part too, but I would never go back to bouncing around in a cloud of dust and grass blades for hours in the hot sun breathing the poison exhaust of that hot mower. Saved a LOT of money with these droids too on blades, oil, gas and repairs plus the initial cost of a big mower.

For me Husqvarna's need for a guide wire was a deal breaker. In my case with the kids playing on the lawn I can get away with the perimeter wire but a wire in the middle of the lawn and spikes just means tripping hazard for the kids. You can dig it in but it is a lot of extra work and will ruin your lawn for a few months.

The Worx mower has a "comb" which is supposed to protect the blade from rocks. It's also quite front heavy and it puts most of its weight on that single wheel in the front. These things in combination makes the Worx mower prone to getting stuck. You can remove the comb, and that will make it less likely to get stuck, but there's still the issue of the single wheel.

tldr just go with Husqvarna Automower

Thanks for the review! Still looking for something a bit more affordable.

i think husquarna figured out how important drive wheel placement is in robots :P

you're always at an advantage when your wheels are pulling weight as opposed to pushing wieght.

Awesome review! Just wish it was a bit cheaper for my budget right now. 😅

I would stay away from Gardena Sileno, bought one 2 years ago and it broke down after 1.5 season, sent it in to service and got it back still broken with a 100$ bill attached. Will never ever buy anything with the Gardena logo on it again, overall their products are utter crap. Take my advice, never buy Gardena.

do you need to install the guide wire if the area is a fenced area with no flower beds to protect?

I have half an acre block. With back yard, front yard. Side yards and yards seperated buy driveway. Will I need to have 3+ of these set up around the yard in different areas with the ground wires or do they interfere with each other ?

What is your thought on Mammotion Yuka mini 600 ? It is also sub 1000$ and without guide wire.
