Supporters of both Kemi Badenoch and Robert Jenrick have insisted the party will now unite as the Conservative leadership contest came to an end.

Kettering had been Tory stronghold for nearly two decades, but it turned Labour in July's election. But what do Conservative grassroots and locals make of the new party leader Kemi Badenoch?

Neither the Tories or Labour would I ever trust again - this country no longer has statesman like leaders. Never ending cycle of incompetent donkeys

The specialist in importing student dependents from Africa with accommodation and funding provided - after all it is not as if there is a housing shortage, a benefits budget crisis, or a problem with social cohesion. Then there is her support for the ECHR and hence mass migration with the same platitudes we had for 14 years. Silly leader choice.

What is happening to our Country and our Party I have voted Conservative all my life but will now be considering the Reform Party I'm afraid the Conservatives who voted for her have not made a wise choice.

The appointment of Kemi Badenoch is the greatest boost for the Reform Party this year. Jendrick would have been a threat to Reform and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kemi Badenoch can’t control the infighting and bring a semblance of order to the Party he may become so frustrated he will leave politics.
I have no doubt the daggers are already caressing the stone.

The final nail in the Tory coffin. RIP

When selecting their Tory leader, they should have advertised the vacancy internationally and invited suitable candidates from all over the world to apply; exactly the same way that the FA and leading EPL Teams appoint their Football Managers. This appointment proves it really doesn't matter if the leader ultimately selected, may or may not speak English or has any strong connection to the UK or understands and is fully immersed in British history, culture and heritage.
Bear in mind Ms. Badenoch only came to England by default at age 16 years because of the conflict in Nigeria, her home country which was ongoing at that time. If there had been no conflict she would have remained in Nigeria.
