MAKE ANY SPEAKER WIRELESS! - XVIVE U3 REVIEW

Показать описание

We recently tested out the XVIVE U3 Wireless microphone system that also works with speakers. With its impressive low latency of less than 5ms and a decent range of up to 90ft this is definitely something to consider for event DJs playing medium-sized events. The products worked flawlessly, with one slight design issue we have highlighted in the review.

They run on 2.4Ghz, thats the major issue. So if you have a party and say 50 people. So potentially 50 mobile phones in the same area all with 2.4Ghz Bluetooth turned on. Meaning no RF bandwith left for these devices. So they will drop out or the sound will break up. For DJ use you have to use Wireless devices with Licensed band kit. DJ Rachel has proved this in many in her videos.

I agree this is a great product. I've been running karaoke gigs for almost twenty years. One of the things I've always struggled with is what to do about microphones. They need to be wireless. They need to have great response for singing. However, they will get abused dropped, and just mishandled. So, instead of investing in a quality Shure or Sennheiser, I always went with lesser quality and low price point 4-mic system. With dismal response and quality, I was ok with the sell-out for acceptable losses in equipment.
This Xvive product is a game changer. I bought one and coupled it with my old trusty and rugged SM58. Great sound, with a great durable mic and less worry about catastrophic damage.

Excellent video. Appreciate the thorough details. I would love to hear you speak through the mic and then compare how the latency arrives to the ear. Of course 5ms seems next to nothing. Thanks again!

I'm glad that this exists 😌 now I'm waiting for this to go mainstream so the prices get more affordable, thanks for the news 🙏 👍, I don't throw my speakers than, they cost 2300 $ in 1993 they are from a aiwa combo cd & casete player but i only use it for external audio playback (auxiliar mode), made in Japan with 75 w power/ speaker 🔊 😉

For better line of site the xlr cable works really well. Used without for awhile and for the record better distance and drop out potential avoided with a shorter xlr cable. Had mine almost 3 years. Recommend!

I have 2 pair of these, for gigs I use 1 transmitter and 2 receivers. Haven’t had any problems

There are a few let downs on those.

- Micro USB instead of USB-C
- Too thick to plug 2 into your player, as you also mentioned
- reach only 25m, as I need a lot more when playing at som wedding and the reception outside is like 80 meters far away from my spot with walls inbetween. Havent found any solution yet for that.
- The switch can get toggled by accident inside of your bag and drain the battery, so you arrive at your gig and batteries are zero. That actually happened three times already...

I use them as well but tend to provide power at both ends since the speaker would require power anyway. With regards to using a XLR cable from the mixer or controller, I would normally get the unit up high on a mic stand or lighting stand for best wireless practice so no need for both units to fit into the back of the controller.

You could use a Y XLR connector to connect stereo to one transmitter.

It could be a game changer for most people using the old cable system. But they need to also improve on the battery life aswell. 5 hours won’t be enough for a gig. Unless you plug in two power banks to each.

I use them often. They work pretty great. I keep them in my dj backpack to make my life easier. Sometimes I use these instead of running a XLR. They haven't let me down yet. I've done 5 hours and the battery light was still green.

They can be charged via micro USB it seems, so you could theoretically strap a cheap power bank to each adapter or pair and get a lot of playtime from them. This might actually make sense for some outdoor events where they must reduce the amount of cables or the cable setup time as much as possible.

it would be good to use a similar design to wireless mics for the transmitter then have two simple receivers for the speakers. But it's clear this product was intended to be used the opposite way around for mic/instruments as an input device.

Guitar Center carries the separate components if you want to purchase another receiver. I have those small lipstick size USB chargers to extend battery life if need be.

You have my thumbs up and thanks for this bit of information

Can you not charge them and use them at the same time. Because running an extension cord to the speaker (which you will have to do anyway) is still easier then XLR?

You could use an xlr splitter, i do for my monitors and pas, so i have other slots open for mics n such.

It's good but what about changing the batteries when it gets weak? Can it be changed?

Can you plug the charge cable in and still use them?
That would negate the battery life issue.
Although I'm thinking the noise from a phone charger or wall wart would possibly leak through the audio
