I’ve been doing these and works great! Also great for warm up as well. I never do well on drums if I don’t warm up at least for 10-15 minutes. Including foot warm up on drum set.

You have a very professor like method of teaching. I like it, no Homo.

That flam workout sounded amazing all by itself, no accompaniment required! Makes me want to get my pad out and give it a go! I struggled with flams and drags when I was practicing rudiments, back when I first got my pad. But this kind of makes me want to give it a try. And yes, more pad exercises would be awesome! : )

5 fantastic exercises, thank you Michi!
My favourite one is number 4, so cool (and it's the difficult one too 😏).

My absolute favorite pad exercises which are currently helping me through a really tough hand injury of sorts are the following
Are usually try to keep it pretty simple unless I’m working on specific rudiments Phils or whatever
And the exercises I keep coming back to personally are the same one you had listed as the first one on the list
except i include more rudiments
I usually include flams drags and sixstrokerolls as well and I usually do each for either two or four bars
The next exercise I do is the subdivision. Almost exact same one as you had listed as the last exercise except I also do 30 second notes and it slower tempo 32nd triplets and 64th notes
The last exercise I absolutely love and use regularly is a technique work out
I don’t know what it’s called but I’m calling it the hand mill
you basically do eight hits with the right hand then with your left then repeat
then do 4 with your right then with your left and then repeat
and then 2 times 3 on each hand repeat that an end with two hits per hand
there is also a variation of this where you just go eight on each and then four on each hand and then two sets of doubles
and I usually do them switching between techniques every round so every time I’ve completed the exercise going through all the hand to hand things ones
I will switch from for example molar to straight wrists fingers or push pull
I also used to do a exercise that’s a paradiddel and dubleparadiddel thing
I can’t remember the exact one but I think I either got it from Mike Johnston or drum lessons online
In fact I think most of these exercises are from drumbeats online Mike Johnston and Ben Minel

Thank you. Great job. Please more exercises for pad, addition you can say something about exercises without drum, in my opinion this topic will interest many people.

Hi Everybody, great lesson. I play the first exercise, as is, then I add a set of doubles after the paradiddles. that way I practice not only going from doubles to paradiddles but vice versa and doubles to singles as well. Flams OUCH.

Great stuff. May I suggest starting #1, #2 and #4 with the left hand as well? I've actually gotten into the habit of starting a lot of rudiments with my left hand lately, only because it seems a little more unconventional for a right handed player.
