☕ If this video helped, buy me a coffee! Thanks so much!

Internet from SpaceX Satellites is finally here for us. SpaceX Starlink showed up and we were excited to set it up. For anyone in rural areas - especially in the mountains or northern states like Iowa, North Dakota, Montana ... this is game changer!

We go through the initial unboxing - it's a massive box with the lid open! The hardware inside is all extremely high quality. I've worked in the IT Industry for 14+ years, and I can honestly say it's rare to see quality cables and hardware like this. It's definitely built to be solid and last. I wish the cable was not attached the satellite dish, but I also understand and to prevent people running their own cables which could potentially cause problems if it's too long or cheap.

Similarly to my Google Wifi, I love how easy the Starlink Internet is to setup. If you know how to launch and app and open wireless settings then you know everything you need to. That's impressive! Again, that will help them have fewer calls troubleshooting products, thus keeping more resources into providing better service we hope!

Starlink is growing rapidly. At the time of this recording they just sent up another 60 satellites on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. SpaceX has more than 1,000 satellites now in the Starlink constellation. It wants to have 1,584 by the end of the year and have global coverage with over 4,400! The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has authorized SpaceX to have 12,000 in operation!! SpaceX is using their re-usable rockets to make sure it's more affordable for them to keep launching more satellites. All part of Elon Musks master plan.

6:30 is what I'm looking for! Thank you! I am sold. I'm gonna get it and plug in a Cat 8 cable into the PoE box. I want to be completely wired, NOT wireless on entry into my home.

Just ordered for a home about an hour north of Los Angeles where there is only satellite available (and not quite reliable). I link in to recording studios for my work where I have to transmit and receive audio, reliably. Mid to late 2021 is what the site said when I made my down payment. Can’t come fast enough.

Great! Good for you to have 16+ years of IT experience. You surely made us aware of that by mentioning it in the entire video.

Happy you received Starlink! I'm 25 miles west of CF without a gig option and have been waiting months for Starlink! Why does Starlink continue to deliver units to those with high speed options when others like myself continue to wait! Again; don't begrudge your fortune; just continue to be disappointed! Lol

A further thought about the snow and the very cold temperature .... I don't think the temperature is affecting your dish. If you watch your own video carefully when you go to remove the snow on the lower edge, it is actually frozen to the lip of the dish. Once you loosened that edge, the rest of the snow slid off, meaning it was thawing from the dish. If you feel all around the dish, it's a pretty consistent "warm" all over. The heat is created (perhaps by default?) by the electronics. As an aside, I put an amp meter on mine for a day and it draws a pretty average 100 watts +/-.

The heat is a by product the many phased arrays just use a ton of power

Can you give an accurate measurement for the diameter of the mounting post that, slips into the tripod base? Reason being i wonder if and old DirecTV or dish network mount could easily be modified to accept it. Thanks for your time. Good video.

Does Starlink allow for seasonal disconnect for cottagers, or at least a reduced rate while not in residence?

Is there a data cap or is it unlimited?

We just got an email about available for order for us in north central Iowa. Still debating it.

Biggest holdup is wife and I do some online gaming, and since not all the sats are up yet, there's short outages long enough to kick you out.

We get 15 down, 5 up, 60ms ping at $55/mo via a wireless network based out of Mason City.

Once it's way reliable, we're doing it. Just not sure we want to make the switch yet.

Great video and unboxing. I live in the desert in Arizona where it doesn't get cold like what you experience. Is that POE injector thermostatically controlled?

Where did you find the different kits. When I ordered 2 weeks ago there were no options and I checked today and I still see no mounting options...
