This is my coins worth money series that runs either every week or every other week highlighting a different coin you may find in pocket change or in a collection worth money. Whether it’s an error quarter, variety quarter, or key date quarter, the quarters worth money are often worth big money - and I’m here to show you what to look for via a discussion of where the error or variety is on the coin and then close up pictures of it. If you watch, you may find quarter worth big money after cherrypicking.

This specific video is about 1965 quarters worth money - these 1965 doubled die obverse and doubled die reverse quarter coins can be worth $1000 or more in the right condition! Best of luck finding one of these awesome 1965 quarters.

Of the ten 1965 quarters I have, I'll now have to re-scour them to check for any doubling. Thank you.

I've read that one of the most infamous errors for a 65' quarter was that some were accidentally made out of 90% silver. 65' was the first year that these coins were supposed to switch over to strictly copper/nickel composition, with 64' being the last year of 90% silver. So, if your 65 quarter is still mostly silver then you're probably looking at several hundred or perhaps $1, 000.

The way you can tell is by scaling it if ways 6.35 grams it's a rare 65 quarter.

I have one of those no mint 65’s. Another anomaly I found with mine is the edge is rounded and narrower on one side, and squared and thicker on the other

I put all my change in my wallet aka the front pocket of my backpack. When it gets heavy I sit down and go through it. If I have managed to save $25 in change I consider it a win.
Today I found a 1942 D Mercury Dime, two off center 1991 P Roosevelt Dimes, a 1964 D Nickle (no steps 🥲), 1961 no MM Roosevelt Dime, a 1940 Wheat Penny and the 1965 Quarter in this video. This quarter has so many doubles I'm going to call it The Double Royal with Cheese.
Half of the letters on the entire quarter are double. That goes for the numbers also. The 1 and the 5 in the date, 1965, are also doubled. Not sure of the quality. Seems to be in pretty good shape for being in circulation since 1965.
The hunt is on to find a value. Come on mama needs a beer and tacos!
