Well, I am retired and bought my EV for just doing around town daily driving. I don't get on high speed Expressways or do long trips, and I only charge my EV in my home garage. So it works for me, and I don't really care what others think about EV vehicles.

I have a 2021 MYP with 39, 000 miles. I purchased it with the idea it would be the last car I ever have to buy. (I was 68 at the time). Nothing has happened since to make me think that won't be the case. No maintenance costs outside of changing the cabin air filter and the tires recently. Absolutely LOVE my MYP as much now as when I bought it.

I had a Leaf for 4 years and now have a Model 3. Tesla Supercharging network makes for a completely different experience. Way better!

I've been building model Ys for the past 3 years. The improvements made to this vehicle within this time are quite astounding.

The same people that complain about range and charge times, are the same folks that willingly sit at costco for gas.

Superb review 👌. Everything we need to know. The best part is your non biased, non Tesla cultist, opinions.

Took me a few months of watching your stuff to see the full spectrum of humor that you toss. Damn, man... You have a gift.

I got my long range model Y on June 2, 2021 have put on almost 89, 000 miles, zero issues besides three sets of tires. Waiting for a cyber beast allocation.

After my 2013 ICE SUV had an engine blow up after only 66k miles I purchased a Tesla MYP online and never looked back. MYP 22 is the best vehicle I have ever owned! Great and thorough review as always Gjeebs!

I vote that if Top Gear USA is ever revived, Gjeebs has to be the host. He just has to. I love this dude's channel.

I have a M3P with 30K mi and am going to get a Model Y for my spouse with the 0.99% finance. I'm happy with both. Your (and others) <valid> complaint is like saying I would buy a certain car if it had a much larger gas tank. Rather our complaint should be the <very><very> slow roll out of dependable and multiple charging sites. Tesla is the only car company making this part of their capitol investment strategy. If logistics support doesn't markedly improve, EV adoption will remain a niche product (at least in the US). (IMHO) Thanks for your honest update.

Drove from Sacramento too Houston in 38 hours sleeping at chargers only. 30 minutes sleep every 3 hours. If you drive long distances this will increase your trip by 4-5 hours if you drive 15 hours

I have purchased 3 sets of 3D mats so far based on Gjeebs recommendation. One for each my Model 3 and Model Y and one set for my wife's new BMW i4M50. I live in the Northeast with lots of ice and snow and sets have been fabulous. I also have cargo mats that have been equally terrific (my wife has a horse, so there is lots of schlepping of all kinds of dirty horse paraphernalia). I have the Kagu model of floor mats due to the extreme wet weather in our area (no carpet pile to collect water). I second what Gjeebs says, these mats are terrific.

Gjeebs stated reasons for upgrading: 1) Low finance rate. 2) Creator content. Number 1 is reasonable IF you like the current model or need to replace your car NOW. However, you seem to have the current car set up just the way you like it. Trade up to the performance model? Number 2? What new content can you create with it? Everything is the same except for the processor and cameras. You have already done all the upgrade videos, travel videos, impression videos, accessories, etc. That only leaves a few new processor driven features.

Logically you should wait for the refresh (if that still happens).

dude yes! Thank you for explaining this to people about the insurance claims. I just experienced that same BS that you were talking about around 7:00 about how even paying extra every month for "zero-deductible" windshield protection, and roadside assistance, etc. using any of these count as claims against insurance!! I had no idea about this until my Fiancé was just dropped by her insurance company for having 3 claims within 3 years (2 windshield cracks and 1 flat tire that needed a tow truck). and she paid extra for all those services, yet insurance dropped her for actually having to use them! its so frustrating that car insurance is mandatory and they can just drop you if you ever have to use their services! scummy business practices. Buyer beware.. I stopped paying my insurance extra for those services after learning that and will just pay out of my own pocket if i ever need roadside or windshield. FOH with them trying to count a windshield crack as a whole claim and raising rates or dropping people entirely from coverage just from needing to use that service that they pay extra for. spending tens of thousands on insurance coverage over the years, but god forbid if you ever actually need to use it, insurance companies will just say bye bye to you as a customer.

Battery density is important. But, when considering the whole EV market, I think range is not as important as infrastructure and charging speed.
