I think I just worked out why Mandalorian Season 3 felt so stretched out and uneven, with multiple side-quests. It's because Lucasfilm clearly took the first two episodes out to use on the struggling Boba Fett show, and then they never satisfyingly replaced them.

Perfect example of writers's problems this season:in episode 7 they bring back Gideon and make him threatening and in episode 8 he acts like an idiot, for some reason...You destroyed my clones, Like dude you saw him on the map lol

Ryan absolutely outdid himself with this one !
Agreed that it was his best one yet !
The intern is gonna parasite his show SO much going on !

As for Pedro Pascal maybe wanting to leave the show, nothing has been officially confirmed, of course, but if you observe carefully what's happening in real life in his career, it doesn't take a genius to put 2 and 2 together. In the span of 2 years, the man has been in Wonderwoman 84, The Unbearable weight of massive talent (very fun flick with Nicolas Cage), The last of Us, and is now coming out in the last Pedro Almodovar film. The dude is literally EVERYWHERE all at once ! He's basically the male version of Anya Taylor Joy !
After having been in the business for 20+ years, and mostly unsuccesfully, before his stint in Game of Thrones and Narcos, and now this massive trampoline in his career thanks to the Mandalorian, he's now crumbling under so many cool opportunities that it would make sense that he wants to branch out and try many of them (and those were the ones he is actually starring in, we have no ideas how many other scripts he didn't take on are on his desk). So that comes at the cost of leaving the Mandalorian (which is heavily rumored why his stunt doubles under the armor Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder are now finally credited in the end credits), and coming back really just for ADR, which, obviously, didn't allow for him removing his helmet this season, since he just wasn't there.

Another big hint of his overall detachment of Star Wars is that at Star Wars Celebration, just a few weeks ago, everybody of the main cast of all the series were there... But Pedro !
I mean... The man who's currently arguably THE FACE (well... The helmet) of Star Wars ... Not at Star Wars biggest yearly annual convention !? Knowing that there won't be one next year !? And Rick Famuyiwa, one of the main directors, while being asked bout the fact that it seems that the show this season is kinda centered more on Bo Katan than Mando, saying in interviews at Celebration that at this point, just about anybody can be THE Mandalorian ? If that doesn't scream "Pedro is out", I don't know what is !
I think one of the main reasons why Jon Favreau had to switch focus from one character to another this season was exactly because of that : Pedro being out, he simply couldn't write the whole show about him as the center character anymore. Which led to all this discourse about how he's not even the main character of his own show anymore.

Ps : Celebration fun fact : when Giancarlo Esposito was asked onstage where the hell is Moff Gideon (Celebration happened just right before ep7, where he's revealed for the first time), he replied with a smile : oooh, he's somewhere in the Galaxy, he's definitely cooking something. (Cue the shot in the finale where he gets cooked alive in his armor)

Great reaction, but it was the YT ad for "The Last of Us" kicking in IMMEDIATELY after the Pitch Meeting dialog about "The Last of Us" that sent me over the edge. I'm ☠ 🤣🤣🤣

If they'd broken up the scientist guy's side story into little segments laced throughout the rest of the series right from episode 1, leading up to scary chick's betrayal of him right before she contacts Gideon, it actually might have worked, by showing the two storylines eventually coming together.

The same method would have worked to interweave the Mando/Grogu story into BoBF, which would have given it a much better narrative flow. But it's like the writers at Disney don't know how to tell multiple stories at once anymore.

Or even Hollywood in general. Stranger Things did the same thing in season 3.

If you have to stretch the plot so much with nonsense and pointless episodes it's because you have nothing to tell

Ya I heard Rumors that with how the episode ended and just the overall feel of the season that din going take a bake seat an the show going focus on bo katan and her journey but the fact they added the part of him asking for side gigs for the alliance seems to me that implys a season of fun and grogu doing random jobs similar to the first couple seasons

Rather than these side quests episodes they should have given a full episode for a badass character like Bo kataan. That is a female character that has depth, loss etc The actress is also very nice and suits the role.
Disney really fumbled it.
