The New Republic failed because episode 7 was released. Months later "starwars: bloodline" came out. The new Republic should've never been destroyed.

Yeah... Star Wars has never done politics well. It's so frustrating because sci-fi universes are very much allowed to have politics. Series like the The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica prove it.
