⁉️ THE QUESTION:

What Happened to the Original 12 Disciples?

====================
🎙️ THE ANSWER:

Well, the Bible doesn't tell us what happened to all 12 of them. It does give us a picture into a couple of them. We know that Judas betrays Jesus. He's going to hang himself.
We know that James in Acts chapter 12 is going to be arrested by King Herod and he'll be put to death. And then there's the historical tradition. This is outside the Bible, but the historical tradition of the church is that the other disciples died as faithful martyrs.
For example, Peter is someone who would be crucified upside down by Emperor Nero in Rome. We know that Thomas, the same doubting Thomas, he would go all the way to India, preach the gospel there until he was stabbed to death with his spear.
There's Bartholomew who would preach in Armenia until he was martyred. Philip would be martyred also in Asia Minor and then Matthew, James, Thaddeus, Simon, Andrew, all of them were believed to have taken the gospel to different parts of Asia and Europe and be martyrs.
John is the only disciple who is believed to have died an natural death. He was in exile on the island of Patmos. He wrote the Book of Revelation.

The question every nonbeliever should ask themselves, why would all these men die defending a lie? They didn't, they were killed defending THE TRUTH! Thank you JESUS for loving us this much!!!

That's why Jesus said take up your cross and follow me. He never said it would be easy but for a true disciples of Jesus Christ the rewards are insurmountable in heaven. Christians are the most persecuted of all religions and will be until the end of days, but then every knee will bow and every tongue proclaim that Jesus is Lord, The King of Kings, hallelujah, Amen

They exiled John because he wouldn’t burn in a fire. He won’t die by fire so they made him isolated in an island. God did protect him so He may write the revelations. Amazing. 😭 If that were me I would’ve cried out the moment they drag me to a pyre thanked God it ain’t any of us but truly God is ever powerful no fire can stop His chosen. If He wills it, He will bring to pass and the LORD did. Amen. 🙏🏽

12 men, without any Earthly benefit whatsoever, were brutally persecuted, tortured, and killed and NEVER CHANGED THEIR STORY. Yet, people in leadership rolls today whom other people would admire over the Gospel, can't hold on to basic truth for more than 5 minutes.

John was instructed to write down what he sees and hears, so although he wrote it he was not the author of it God was

And John was the one disciple who had the courage to stand by Jesus at the cross.

Imagine how little Thomas must have feared that spear after seeing the wounds of Jesus resurrected

If I’m not mistaking tradition has held that St Bartholomew “pray for us” was martyred by means of filleting. By far I would say St Bartholomew endured the most brutal and painful martyrdom of the 12.

May the Lord ease the suffering of his servants, and bring peace and comfort to his faithful. Lord have mercy

My stepfather is a pastor and always warns his congregation that discipleship is no joke. He uses the deaths of the OG disciples and apostles to count the costs of submitting yourself to Jesus as Lord

Following Jesus comes with a cross. Get out of your comfort zones and stand for the Gospel for such a time as this
