While the fedora tippers stroke themselves off about this, let's clear something up:

1) when he says "Act of God", he means in a legal sense; he's not actually claiming God did a good or bad thing; it's a legal term that means "out of our hands". In other words there's nothing that the agency of any of the human actors could do or could have done to prevent the incident or make it better or worse. He is *not* making a personal, religious statement.

2) The pilot in this scene is a drunk, depressed alcoholic. You're not *supposed* to agree with his constant anti-religious rhetoric; it is meant to express his nihilistic, sad view of the world and how it's destroying him. He says "God help me" at the end of the movie when he finally confesses that he's an alcoholic and yields his fate to the legal system by telling the truth. His anti-God rhetoric is a front for his refusal to acknowledge and deal with his flaws.

How could a loving God allow bad things to happen to good people. Too draw a greater good outta them. Didnt jesus suffer an die for us on the cross? It's crazy how when BAD EVEN HORRIFIC things happen there are sayings like "ACT OF GOD OR ITS GODS WILL, talking about the creator (Jehovah.. psalm 83:18). My question is if God is responsible for all the bad that happens then what is SATAN doing 🤔 what is he responsible for🤷🏾‍♂️
