This scene hits so hard. Imagine being in Muichiro’s shoes. suffering from Amnesia, and always forgetting things. But when you finally regain your memories, the first thing that hits you is that one of your dear friends (who’s like an older brother figure to you) was already dead.

Every time I see Rengoku after his death, I always clap hard and cheer for him. He’s the ideal person, if more people were like Rengoku the world would be a better place. Damn, I don’t even like watching anime like that but this character has resonated with me.

I personally think Demon Slayer really went downhill on season 3, but one thing they always do right is keeping Rengoku's memory alive and relevant. Even though he was only in the story for one movie/7 episode arc, avenging his death is as powerful a motivation to the characters as their own families.
