If you think about it, Uzui did what Rengoku asked.
He managed to stay alive and later on helped them get stronger.

I love how Tengen went from 'You guys are useless dogs!' to 'These three are my trusted Tsuguko!' He gradually saw the bravery and potential in them and became like their proud teacher. Rengoku would have been happy to see it. I also love how they give depth and development to the characters without having to go overboard on flashbacks etc.

Love that Rengoku became a symbol of hope and inspiration for the characters this season. Despite his death, his personality and passion lived on in their memories. Usually when such a major death happens, I always get the feeling that the characters that were around them quickly forget about their existence but not in this show. Nobody forgets the kindness and selflessness that was Rengoku, in addition to the many lives he saved.

I love how rengoku can see that everyone is different and nobody can be like the other person everyone is always trying to look up to others and everyone is amazing in their own way hes basically telling him dont be me because who you are is bad ass already and i cant do what you do either because we are born different and both personalities make the world amazing, fun, interesting and at the same time you learn from just the persons personality being different from yours it was such a nice conversation something people need to learn today instead of wanting to be others be you because you already have a set of skills others might not its like when you play a game and have all these classes but there is always one you connect with the most because its the way you are it fits you perfectly.

Uzui always had such respect and reverence for Rengoku. "EVEN RENGOKU couldn't kill it." - Tengen Uzui in reference to Rengoku being killed by Upper Moon 3. You know, it's fucking INSANE how well the writers made you fall in love with a character within the span of one movie. Especially when he appeared to be so enthusiastically calling for Tanjiro and Nezuko's execution in Ep. 23. Wild stuff, we truly are lucky to be getting, what appears to be, the Renaissance of Anime right now

It’s sad we never saw Tengen and Renguko fight along side each other in the manga. It would have been nice to see that, since these two look up to each other so much.

In all seriousness, this scene did tear me up a little since Rengoku did have that burning passion on protecting others before him. It's still sad he had to be the first to die
