Fox 599Tic Folding Karambit

Featuring hybrid titanium and carbon fiber scale construction, the FMKD FX-599TIC Karambit by Fox Knives features premium ELMAX steel with a 2.55" long swedged blade with a black PVD coating. A lockbar insert ensures the longevity of the milled titanium frame lock. The milled texture extends through the carbon fiber and chamfered edges keep things comfortable.

The backspacer and back ring are constructed from a single piece of titanium which matches the coyote-colored finish of the frame itself. Combined with jimping on the thumb ramp and flipper tab and prominent finger grooves, the 599Tic offers a secure grip.

The FX-599TIC presents multiple options for blade deployment, either with the thumb cutout, a flipper tab or the integrated wave opener.

Is that 599Tic frame lock supposed to be safer than the 599 with a liner lock?
I think it's about $185.00 more according to the website.
