Before YouTube & traveling the world teaching, Matt is a passionate professional photographer, specializing in all things 'people' related. Matt has been published extensively in Australia and abroad and has exhibited with the likes of Studio Harcourt.

Matts's adventurous spirit has led him all over the globe, and he now leads tours to a number of exotic locations.

I had the same thing with using Canon digital after shooting Olympus film cameras for decades. They were great, but like you said, I never quite gelled. Try the Olympus OM-D EM-1 and it felt so good and right in my hands. Never used Nikon. They’ve never appealed, even though their reputation has been great. I did try a digital one once, but just couldn’t get to grips with it. We all have what we are comfortable with, and all will do the job, if we know what we’re doing.

I watched a video where the photographer was trashing the Z62 for bird photography. I told him maybe he should try the camera designed for sports and wildlife, the Z9. The Z62 is pretty much a general photography tool.

I passed on both 24-70 zooms because the range is just too limiting for me. Instead, I went with the 24-120/4 and I have absolutely no regrets–more compact and lighter than the 24-70/2.8, better sharpness and contrast than the 24-70/4 and a more usable range of focal lengths than either.

Professionals can use every tool. Nikon Canon and Sony as well. It seems Nikon pays more at the moment.

A couple of years ago Matt, "That Nikon Guy", gave Nikon the flick, went all in on Sony but now with the outstanding Z range has come crawling back. I think his credibility has suffered more than a little, IMHO.

I wonder if he sold all his nikon gear like "Theoria Apophasis aka angry photographer" just to stay relevant. I have been and always will be a Nikon fan. Thick and thin. Be true to yourself.
