For drop B tuning you should have gotten the 5-string. That B string on the 4 is flopping like a mother.

Warwick are designed to get the low end. Some of the German models (Dark Lord series) come from factory F#BEA. They are thunderous. Eq the tone better and get better strings using a minimum .135 to get the low B. The strings are probably stainless which adds to the brightness possibly change them to nickel. Just some serious thoughts from a long time Warwick fan. The song sounded good!

Thanks for the video. I'm a longtime Warwick junkie. I currently have a German 6 String Corvette $$ and a 5 string Corvette Standard. The German models handle lower turnings a little better than the Rockbass versions. I tune to drop A regularly on both of my Warwicks. I use Rotosound strings with a heavier B String. If you are looking for a Rockbass that handles lower tunings better check out the Corvette Tyranis which has a 35 inch scale and comes factory tuned to BEAD and comes with active EMG pickups. They also make a multiscale Corvette in the Rockbass line. If you want a German Warwick watch Reverb for a used one. Warwicks are a bit overpriced new while used ones are much more affordable. You can pick up an older Corvette standard for around a grand most of the time and they sound amazing.

I would suggest the 5 string version if you want to go lower than drop D. A 5 string would already have a low B. It came with 135 - 45 strings. I prefer 135 - 50.

I have the German version ($2, 500) and love it. The Rockbass version is good, but check them out carefully before you buy. I tried a RB 4 string ($800) and it played great, but a 5 string ($1, 100) had a bowed neck and terrible action.

If you like the big sound of humbuckers, also check out the MusicMan / Sterling Stingray. The Sterling (import) version starts at only $300 and is very nice. The MusicMan (USA) version is more like $2, 000. It's even nicer if you got the cash.

Nice demo! As long as you strings are fresh and your picking technique is fine, you can get away with cheap basses in metal (imo). Regarding tension... whenever I need low B in a 4-string, I just buy a five string set, which is 135ish. A bit thicker than what you used, works for me. Cheers!

In that "low price range" you can pick any bass. All of them are good at least. Original Warwick is more expensive. Just like FENDR from the U.S.
A more cheaper german brand comparing to WARWICK is SANDBERG there also very good.

You want low, use d'addario bass strings pro steel xl heavy and dark glass alpha omega pedal. It works for me

Well, I think in order to validate the comments, it would be great if you could do a video comparing this bass to it's German version, both basses setup with the same string gauge, same neck relief, same string height and same pickup height. This will tell us if a 34in scale instrument can really sound better if it's made in Germany.

Awesome review, ray...I was interested in the rockbass corvette $$ at one point. particularly I was interested in the 5-string version. not only for it's affordability, but also I was in the market for a passive bass. I do like how it looks and how it sounds. it has a beefy and punchy sound quality to it. and from the demo you've done, it sounds killer in the mix. nicely done on the review. keep it metal, brother. \m/

I loved your song! I always feel like Warwick’s are too warm for me, and there is a Spector vs Warwick historic dilemma...so there’s that. BUT the nice pull pots are a cool touch and the nut is fancy. I’ve never tried to drop tune a 34 inch scale bass to B. Have you ever had any luck with that with other basses? Mine is a 35 scale so it’s made for that. Great video!!!

What?!?!? I literally tune to A on my Rockbass $$ 5-string on a consistent basis with absolutely no issue whatsoever. Why not play a 5-string?🤔

Solid review man! Another way to maybe give the bass a little more low end is to turn up the sub bass frequencies in post if you do use this to track in drop B!
