R8 is a really good camera. For travels, street photography, landscapes, portraits, and so on. So versatile and lightweigt to use. ❤

I just picked up the r8 because I was looking at the r6 but couldn’t bite on the price as I’m only part time photography atm. Loving it so far and very interested in content about it!

I use the R8 (coming from a SL3) mainly for wildlife. The AF system and FF sensor is a total game changer

R6 mk ii has been a blessing. Incredible low light performance, you can cheat with crazy high ISO. Resolution is not a problem. Amazing focus. Long battery and no overheating. Heavy, yes, but I don't care.

Love my R8! Got it from Canon’s Refurbished site for $999 for the body and it’s been a huge upgrade from my Canon 70D. And more money saved for better glass is always the better investment IMO

R8 is definately a good beginner friendly camera I’ve been rocking an eos R which does fine for most of the stuff I need but even the r8 around the same price has great image quality and better video features than the eos R personally thought about switching to either that or save up a little longer and get an R5

R8 has no 2nd card slot, no mechanical shutter, no battery grip, no joystick, etc. It has a rolling shutter, tiny batteries, minimal weather sealing, and small buffer.

I've been looking at upgrading into the Canon mirrorless range and wish there was a comprehensive "these are the differences" video out there for the range. I'm thinking R6 Mark II will be the right choice but the R8 just hit my radar.
