Is the SpyderX Elite Photo Kit worth it? First time user experience

In this video I underestimate the difficulty of calibrating my own monitor. At the same time I grossly underestimate the power of a Color-checker/Grey-card! Those thing ROCK!
The video did not go as planned but with patience we might actually make a proper youtube video worthy of a like or two !

The dream is real...

Majority of people watch their tvs and monitors on a cool setting. It takes some time to get used to the warmer color tone but it’s definitely more accurate and correct.

So I did some research and found out that many experience that monitors shift from cold to warm after a calibration. People also stated that the light that fall on the monitor plays a huge part.
Some flat out hate the spyder system. Me personally, after the calibration it was warmer than hell. So I shifted my monitor's temperature from 6500K to 7000K or 7500k still not 100% happy with either.
I will try to calibrate again some other time, but from my experience and what I see on the internet, the results may vary.

How did you fix it? I'm having the same issue. Ugh!

Your monitor was way too blue/green and by switching the calibrated results on and off your eyes don't have time to adjust. It's the same in video or photo editing when correcting the white ballance, you may feel it's not correct at the beginning. Just step away from the monitor for a few minutes and look at it again. Also I saw something I think it's important in your video. Your monitor type wasn't detected by windows, you had a Generic PnP Monitor that means the correct driver isn't even installed and had no ICC profile assigned to it. You need to make sure everything is correctly set up before doing the calibration. Also some monitors have a more "vivid" profile and after calibration the results seem more dull but they're actually correct for editing. From just a consumer view the vivid colors may look better but not for a photo/video editor. Also many people who calibrate their monitors do this on an already factory calibrated monitor so the results are not very different like on yours.

I am just trying to understand how all this works and I imagine I would have similar problems getting it to work so can identify with your frustrations. I would be interested to know if you can get a print to look the same as what is on your monitor also but if you can't even get two monitors looking the same I wonder about the accuracy of the SpyderX. Maybe i1Studio from X-Rite is a better system?

I prefer that kind of videos compared to "salesman" polished style. This video is just from alive and not "robot like" who is pretending that knows everything (usually with no skills).
