I can’t believe people are complaining about the smell…I ran into a woman in Walmart and she was buying Lysol Kitchen cleaner to spray the flies cause it made them scatter. She said she had two Rescue Reusable Flytraps but didn’t use them because of the smell.
To which I replied:
“What are you gonna do with the Lysol - make the flies smell good? I have 4 flytraps and could give a —- about the smell. I want dead flies, not good smelling flies.”
She just walked away.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tip on disposal: empty the container into a small grocery bag filled with cheap cat litter…this soaks up the liquid. You can then tie the bag up and dispose in your outdoor trash. I like to do this the day before city trash collection. Hope this helps someone out there.

I searched this up cause I’m stalling. 😂 I bought two fly traps and they’re full in 4 days. And there’s more flying around but can’t fit. But I hate the smell!!! And I don’t wanna smell it in the bin when I open it 😂

I live in an urban neighborhood and dumping this in my trash would DEFINITELY raise the ire of my neighbors! This is NOT a viable solution for me, nor trying to empty dead flies and stinky water into a Ziploc or 13 gal trash bags. I tried flushing them down my toilet. My house STANK. There has GOT to be solution to solve this problem!

This video is EXTREMELY Not only is the smell ABSOLUTELY HEINOUS, you should NEVER touch this thing with your bare hands!!!! Unfortunately this is the second time I’ve bought one of these traps. I tried to unscrew the cap off the first time to dump the flies and was hit by the WORST SMELL I have EVER experienced. A dead body would be better and I stand by that. I threw the whole trap away, after dry heaving in my driveway for 20 minutes. This time, I TRIED dumping it in a bag that was in my outside trash bin. Again I spent a considerable amount of time dry heaving and trying my absolute best not to blow chunks all over my driveway. I understand the smell has to attract the flies THIS IS NOT THE SMELL I AM REFERRING TOO! The stuff you mix with water is bad, but the smell of the flies rotting in the water is extremely lethal. But it does catch them 9/10 would buy again. Minus one point cuz I dont know how to dispose of the trap without just tossing it each time :/ fml

What do you do so it doesn't smell terrible

If you put it in your trash can, you’ll attract a million flies to it. I dug a hole, dumped it, and buried it, but I don’t want to do that every time I empty it. I’m not sure what the best solution is, but i definitely would not empty it in my trash can.

I do believe you were supposed to set these traps up approximately 30-40 feet away from your house. If you're downwind you will have that smell go through your windows and your door every time you open them or sit out on your deck

Are the contents harmful or safe to wildlife? I'm considering just dumping my bucket in the woods be behind my house. In my case, it's rained so much lately that the bucket is full to the top with rainwater. I have to figure out how to prevent that from happening.

I am shocked by how well it works but the smell of death keeps me off my deck worse than the fly annoyance.

Forgot the most important step: tie off the trash bag with dead fly trap bait, and get as far away from it as possible.

Warning!: If you dispose of it in your lined trash receptacle -- you may regret it. Liners are notorious for leaking & your receptacle will reek for weeks (baking soda helps - but may not omit the stench). Furthermore - flies are then attached to the trash receptacle - where there larva may thrive. Better disposal ideas/instructions are definitely in order. Eeekkkk...😬

Wear gloves. These things are a lot dirtier and more disgusting than this video shows.
