For me, the range finder focusing in view finder is easier and faster than the peaking focus assistance in any system. When the alignment of focus point is right, it it just right. No more no less. But the peaking is different. You see different level of peaking on your subject and you have to decide before pressing the shutter. Anyway, i love the Visoflex on my M11. Normally I don't need it. But when I need it, thanks God, I have it. Especially when I use tele or wide focal length lens. Thank you for your honest review.

Great review! For travelling I like the Tri-Elmar 28-35-50mm and the 50 summilux for portraits.

Alex, Regarding Focal lengths - I have the Voigtlander 35 Nokton 1.7, Zeiss 50 Planar and, Voigtlander 75 Nokton 1.5 M mount lenses for my SL2-S. Really is a fantastic 3 lens setup! I fee like I have 90% of my shooting covered. Occasionally, I wish I had something wider, and I may end up getting something in the 24mm range. One of the reasons I love the M Mounts is that I can carry a three-lens setup in my small Ona Bowery bag (non-mounted lenses in neoprene lens bags). This makes for small stealthy setup to walk around in. Actually, I can fit a 4 m mount lens setup (1 on camera) into the Bowery bag although it's a tight fit, into this bag.

I really like your videos. Great info, production, etc. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing more Leica content from you.

2 bodies 2 lenses keeping it simple. M6 with a 50mm ZM f2 and an m10 with a 35mm Summicron ASPH V1 📷🔴✨
Lenses swap between the two occasionally based on the shoot but a simple kit is liberating from the digital kit I use for full time paid work.

I have the M11 with the lux 50mm and 35mm and the cron 90 app. I like having one on the M10-R and one on the M11. Those 35mm and 90mm focal lengths do it for me and are the two views I see in the world. New visoflex 2 is in the mail so looking forward to trying it with the 90mm.

Alex, I sincerely appreciate your critiques and “first impressions” of the Visoflex 2. I am currently mauling over the idea as to whether or not I will purchase the M11. I currently own the M10R/M10M as well as the M3 w/50mm f2 DR with goggles. My other lenses are also all Leica. 24mm f3.8, the 35mm FLE asph, and the APO’s 50, 75, & the 90 f2 lenses. Thank you again, Doc Chaps

Nice kit. I have the 90 apo Summicron and it's a great lens esp for portraits, amazing character. Doesn't get enough love. 75 is close to 50, so a 90 would give you more variation in focal lengths imo.

I have an M7 Silver Chrome and 35mm Summicron latest version and an M11 on order. Nice kit you have there, thanks for sharing. You are right about passing the camera to someone to take your picture, 9/10 times it will be out of focus as to be expected.

Hey Alex, try to leave the EVF at home unless critical as otherwise it will become too much of a crutch and you’ll never gel with the rangefinder. Ultimately a rangefinder will always be quicker than an EVF for manual focus.

So how funny that this video came across my feed. I’m glad you broke down and bought the 35 FLE. Your Summicron is sitting on my desk waiting for me to take it out tomorrow. 😂

Another point if you try 35mm summilux you will love it as much as 50lux because even though it’s wider f1.4 give you ver acceptable bokeh that separates the background enough also it’s great low light lens for night street photos more than 50Lux because of the wider view, with 35lux and 50Lux and handgrip your kit is complete at least for while 😆

Just returned my M11, not because it's not a good camera, but because I think that money is better put towards lenses. I already own 5 film leicas and an M9, which should be good enough for my needs.
Love you videos, you have a very relaxed approach that I like.

I have exactly the same lenses as you even down to the silver Summilux 50mm. The only difference is I am using a Leica M10-D also with the thumb grip and no Visoflex. Let us know how it goes with the 75mm!

Hello Alex. Congratulation with the M11. It has a 60 MP sensor and that will give you the opportunity for cropping images shot with the 50 LUX into 75 mm. It would make more sense for you to invest in a 90 mm. My favourite is the LUX 50, but in tight spaces my 21/1.4 mm is very helpful. A Summarit 90/2.5 is also in my kit. I've an M240 and an M-P240, EVF, and a Cokin filter set in my bag. A Q is for back up and video filming. That's all I need as a press photographer. My daily or main camera is the M-P240 with the LUX50. Keep on rolling!

Woo doggy. Thanks for the video. Interesting your thoughts on the weight of the brass 50 lux. I have only ever handled the black one and I liked the weight but always had this plan to buy the silver for the brass and the matching to my M2. On my M10 however I use the new Voigt 75 1.5 Nokton ASPH. Really like love the rendering. A lot of character. But the Leica 75 APO will undoubtably beat it in corner and other IQ. But maybe give the Voigtlander a shot if you wanna get used to the focal length and then trade up in the future?

I thought someone finally would talk about the Visoflex 2 a bit more, but once again it's just specs talk. If you already have one connected to your camera, get into it !

I think you'll enjoy the 75mm APO. I have the SL version for my SL2 and I love it. I recently purchased the 50 summilux, I'm looking forward to using it. Are you using the 35 APO M or just summicron?

Hi Alex, no big deal, but you will find the handgrip will hugely “balance out/allow a comfortable grip on the camera” with the set-up you have. Enjoy! Cheers..

I have been searching for a review on this! Thank you for doing it! Nice sharp background for your video btw. I have been telling people the 50 lux shoots better photos than RF 50 1.2 and the Canon guys just think I’m nuts. I think the bokeh quality is so much better on 50 lux, unless canon releases a DS version of 50 1.2
