I love how Isaac tries to please Greed, like he's clinging into the one person that isn't trying to kill him, even if that person doesn't care about anything but his money.

Darby really does a great job of making Greed's voice feel inviting but foreboding at the same time. Like "Sure, I can help. But it'll cost you, and by the way, I really don't care if you die as long as I get paid." He's like a light in this dark cruel world where you can get help and don't have to worry about fighting for your life, but doesn't that make him morally good. He charges you for your own survival, and Isaac has already been through a living hell. Plus, making deals with greed itself reinforces the idea Isaac is considered a sinner. Feeds nicely into the whole deadly sin idea. Besides what the hell is he even gonna spend them on? It's not like there's any shops beside his own. Only makes you realise he really is just greedy, wanting all the money he can get, even if he can't use it anywhere.

Ann also does a great job of portraying Isaac's innocence and hopelessness. He just follows along with what he's told no matter what because he literally has no choice if he wants to live.

This... is fantastic. The theme of Greed fits with the dark undertone of the beat of this song. Even as someone who hasn't played Binding of Isaac since it was a flash game, I get so much nostalgia and chills from this.

The fact that most of the items at the back of the shop at 0:01 are greed and greedier mode unlocks is great

I didn't expect anyone to add lyrics to binding of isaac's OST and have it sound good yet this slaps

If you've paid attention, you may or may not have noticed that even the lyrics are showing the character of both Isaac and Greed. Isaac, being a very young child, uses a simple font, no capital letters at all and hardly uses punctuation marks. Whereas Greed, who displays himself as a tradesman, uses a font which makes him seem more sophisticated, yet slightly intimidating, uses capital letters where needed and uses punctuation marks.

I am so glad this channel exists. They put so much love and effort into their work. Even with the YT algorithm and all its flaws. Keep up the good work!

here's an interesting parallel between Greed and Isaac, with greed being an ancient, dead version of Isaac, the instrument you synced his voice to is a regular piano, while Isaac himself has his voice synced to a toy piano. just a neat detail.

Gods small thing but the overlap of ‘Greed’ in the end of Isaac’s line and start of Greed’s line just sounds amazing

2:27 “Even those who claim to be pure fall to their own greed”
That line hits *hard*

Greed's an interesting one, isn't he? He's got his own song, his own game mode! And, well, he's the only sin that doesn't (always) attack Isaac on sight.
On the other hand.
The devil demands a pound of flesh, but greed? Greed wants your money.
There's no distance there. No "bloodthirsty monster that wants you dead and vaguely represents something evil", no trading away your life (well, heart containers) for power.
Desire is the driving force behind all animal behavior, wealth has uplifted us from pathetic wretches to noble and proud beings, humans will inevitably tend to behave according to incentives more often than according to morality, scarcity is a dilemma that has birthed entire fields of study simply to try to formulate the least monstrous solution, and bombs are half price.
You gotta deal with this guy. I get the impression that some people don't like that about him. You don't just get to smack him and leave (not usually, anyway).
Often times, you're only alive because of Greed. Even metaphorically, that item or room you went out of your way for (purely because you _wanted_ it) might have just saved you. Sometimes, that item's one you bought from the man himself.
I love it.

Ok so basically greed's voice is perfect

And Isaac's voice is adorable

I love how he makes it very clear that all Greed wants is your money, and doesn't care about Isaac. Even so, Isaac still tries to please him, falling for his own greed.

Something about a deep vibrating voice saying "All bow to Greed" while Ultra Greed spins on one foot on the screen is unreasonably funny to me

I'm so happy with how this video turned out. Binding is Isaac has always been a special game to me and having the opportunity to write the lyrics for this song was a dream come true. Mixed with Darby and Ann's vocals, this is just so amazing all around 💙❤️

Leave it to these guys to take something like Isaac and make a haunting, endearing song out of part of the OST that just drips with atmosphere through the lyrics and singing that fits the overall dreary tone of the game itself. I can only imagine the kind of lyrical dread they could put forth through songs based on other characters and bosses.

-Sloth could come from existentialism and dread. Isaac's lyrics of "don't know why I bother" is a perfect possibility of why Sloth would be sloth; what would doing anything matter when death is likely just right around the corner no matter what?
-Pride would just extol the joy of not caring about anybody but yourself; others are just stones to prop yourself up on.
-Envy could flip the above concept by talking about how nobody else deserves what they've gotten; why should they thrive and he suffer?
-Lust could have a stalker-ish and hedonistic view of desire, no love and only pleasure, and selfish pleasure at that. (Though given Isaac's age and all, I wouldn't expect Lust to get much focus if even getting a song...)
-Wrath would just be unbridled anger and vitriol brought to bare, seething rage beneath every syllable.
-Gluttony could be the one more comical of the seven, but still have undertones of an insatiable hunger, a hole that can't ever be permanently filled.

Then there's others besides the seven sins, like the Harbingers all singing songs of doom, Mom herself with a twisted song about her devotion to her beliefs and misguided attempts at trying to make things right or such, the dueling madness of some bit of mother's love being buried beneath insanity making her view Isaac as a demon, Isaac himself facing against himself and reflecting on whether or not he's a bad child, the devil tempting Isaac to darkness with dark promises and talking about how the world above certainly offered him no light to save him, Hush with an oppressive, quiet song that hints at what's slowly happening to Isaac, and Delirium joining the likes of Marx and Jevil's ilk in being a chaotic song jumping from beat to subject in the lyrics, but inevitably leading towards Isaac's final fate...

Perhaps I went a little overboard here, but I'd say it's a testament to how good this one song is that it sent this much going through my mind for a time. :)

I love those little details (don't know if intentional). When Greed sing about sins, there is Lust, when he sings about seeing the light, Isaac has Hoky Shot, when Greed sings that no one can hide from him, Isaac is fighting Greed and when Greed sings about being greedy, Lost is opening holy chests showing that he is greedy.
