It's cool that you picked a track I've auditioned a 1000Xs. Makes this easier. That said, it's still really hard to say which I like better. Assuming their levels are identical, the D5 is a little more refined, but lacking some of the high-bass/low-mid - there is some bite and grind in Nathan's East's bass that is missing. The M100 had a touch more to offer in the high-bass/low-mids but a bit anxious in its presentation (treble edge). I think I could listen to the D5 a lot longer (and probably at a higher volume) than the M100, but the lack of jam in the bass would bug me after a while. Good bargain on the SMSL M100 and good value on the Sabaj D5.

SMSL sounds boring. Like an old school Arcam. Pleasant enough but meh, probably because lacking dynamics. D5 has good energy and mid. Needs a better treble.

Listening on my sennheiser HD660s via SMSL sap II pro headphone amp I’m looking to buy the M100 or a topping D30 Dac to go with it. The Sabah has more depth & wider soundstage, piano sounds precise and tuneful while the M100 is not as well defined., but price performance wise it’s brilliant

I think typical different between sabr and akm. akm is smoother, laid back, bigger sound-stage, and more accurate. sabr is clearer, bigger image, sharper with detail and bigger bass can be fatigue maybe ? I would say if you have bright setup get akm, if you have warmer setup get sabr. I prefer akm for musicality though. I was considering this Sabaj D5 seriously but after this video I will wait toppoing D90 with akm ...

Hello from Mexico, in the last 6 monts i buy one pair of B&W 683S2 like you, and now i buyed one Marguels Audio Arch1.2 Hibrid. So, in this moment i love the sound but i think this can sound beter. My cuestion is, if I buy a Sabaja D5. THE SABAJ degrades the bass or increases them? Degrades the mids and highs? or increases them? or does it give them depth? in your experience I appreciate your help and time thanks for your attention
