So almost three years after The Last of Us 2 and its ending, we have already gotten our first details/news on "The Last of Us 3" which will likely have the return of Abby and Ellie. The Last of Us 2 ending clearly to me sets up The Last of Us Part III the sequel. Could we see a NEW Playable Character in a new Last of Us Game? Last of Us 2 director Neil Druckman talked about the possibility of The Last of Us 3 and stated if they can't come up with a love story that TLOU would end with Part 2! There is a plot written for The Last of Us 3. Naughty Dog has a big decision ahead in terms of the future! According to director Neil Druckmann, Our process is the same thing we did when we did Part 2,” Druckmann continued. “Which is if we can come up with a compelling story that has this universal message and statement about love — just like the first and second games did — then we will tell that story. If we can’t come up with something, we have a very strong ending with Part 2, and that will be the end.” The Last of Us Part 3 is in production at Naughty Dog! I cannot die happy if I don't get to see what happens to Ellie and Dina. However, like someone said a game set as a prequel that delves into the 20 year jump with Tommy would be pretty cool. Maybe even play as Tommy at some point during it?

I would be so mad at Naughty Dog if they leave things like that. The end of part II can't be THE END. There's still so much to tell, so many unclosed stories. Abby, Lev and the fireflies, the story of Lev, the story of Ellie and Dina, are they going to find a cure without Ellie having to die or not? Lev and Tommy should also be two playable characters.

I NEED a third game where they find a cure, wether that be through Ellie sacrificing herself or some other way. She’s my all time fav character so I obviously don’t want her to die, I want her to be happy, but her sacrificing herself would be the perfect bitter-sweet ending for the franchise. It would connect the three stories and wrap them up in beautiful melancholy, the true essence of TLOU.

Three is needed. Abby is now with the fireflies. A cure is still on the table and she knows Elie. Elie is now free from the burden of the past. I see them reunited in a story that leads to Elie sacrificing herself to fulfill her purpose as the savior of humanity

Think it should start with abby looking for ellie but not for revenge but to see if she can talk her into having brain surgery to find the cure ellie pushed further out looking for dina and you start playing through the individual chapters for that main objective,

Abby know of another doctors but this time there's a good chance ellie will survive the procedure think that could be a good take on it

Part 2 literally ended on a cliff hangar with Ellie most likely going back to Jackson to find dena and Abby taking off to find the firefly’s on Catalina island. I have a feeling they already know exactly what the next ones story is gonna be but they just want to keep it secret for now.
